I ran into a trade I couldn't refuse, but don't have the mush to back it... I've got clean plates ready for A2G tmrw or Friday... think I'm going to spawn this one, and G2G one of the next round... only 4 quarts this round, so will do 2 shoeboxes I think

Im sure you can reason with them. See if they wouldn't mind waiting a bit for you to back it up

Prep more grain and make 10 plates out of your cleanest one then take half of each plate to its own jar.

I've got 7 clean plates ready for oats boiling... one more colonizing plate I'll be transferring further, and another spore germination plate showing signs

G2g is way faster than a2g tho. I woulda g2g that shit. I just made 8 ape jars 2 nights ago from 1 master. They'll be colonized and spawned b4 the weekends over.
But if it has to be a2g I would slice the plate in multiple small pieces and still put half in each jar.

That's the plan... I do soft agar that liquifies on the shake, cut each plate into 16 wedges, and drop eight to each jar

G2g is only faster if the master is clean. In the case of needing fungus id always go with safer methods. Chances are one of his many jars will be cleaner and safer to expand. Always err on the side of caution

I work with oats all I can say is make sure they are dry when you jar them I mean really dry. Its possible for them to look dry but still be too wet. If they are too wet you will have starch soup after first shake... and thus a facepalm moment.

Here's my current T2 transfer. What do you all think? Transfer again for safety or start prepping some grains?

And try to transfer smaller wedges to raise your chances of clean culture with fewer plates

I think one thing to keep in mind is that these develop very slow, fruit maturation time is usually longer than usual. So coupled with the lack of pigment it might make people think that itβs blobbing etc, when itβs just sitting in a primordia stage a bit longer than usual and thus looks off.

I think that's the case.
