You reasonably misunderstand. I have a cup of master spawn ive just never used bags and most writups require either tyvek sleeves or an impulse sealer. I want to put a cup of grain into about a 5qt bag

Lay it on its side in a tall sab. Use pints to save headroom.

Yeah I see that now.
Sorry man.
I'm honestly not sure, but could you use a wash cloth or an old cut up shirt in place of the tyvek? Anything that breathes?

I have been folding my bags where I take the very top and fold it so it covers the filter patch, then tuck that under the bag. As long as you PC with it sitting on the top, or pressed tight between jars/other bags, it will “seal” itself.
I haven’t used zip ties on my PCed bags in a month or so and have have success with grain and sawdust bags.

Is that a 1” coupling? Got bags I been wanting to use but wasn’t sure how I wanted to seal them. Got plenty of those laying around. Maybe 3/4” would work?

What do you guys/gals think about straw logs? Does cubensis perform well in a straw log situation?

Okay. You know how to do the work. If you don't have tyvek, could you not keep the bag open with a small piece of cloth? Like a cut up T-shirt.
Then close it old school with a zip tie.
I haven't done this, but I dont see why it wouldn't work. I've closed bags with a zip tie, but I haven't used a piece of cloth on place of a tyvek sleeve to keep the bag open during the cycle.

My main concern is a nonsterile opening.
