I picked up some cuttings....

Tangieland  (Tangie X Candyland)

South Fork Kush  (SFV OG X Chemdawg)

Slymer  ( [Trainwreck x Jack The Ripper] x Trinity)

Frosted Cherry Cookies  (Cherry Cookies X The White)

They're all some rather stout & healthy plants to my eyes, I'll start posting some pics in the next few days.

My seedlings are doing alright. They're at 2.5 to 3 weeks old. I'm not sure how quickly they're supposed to grow but they're growing a bit slower than I assumed they would. A few of them have keeled over and shriveled, they weren't doing all that great in the first place....meanwhile the others have started to look a lot more vigorous over the past few days. I'll get some pics up soon.

I've noticed there's definitely a point where the plant itself starts taking off I think it's when rbe roots are well established.

I have one now it's five weeks old I just put her in her final home and topped her first time at third node and she's so small the two new tops are growing so close together I can't distinguish them it looks like a little clump of lettuce u can tell there's separations here and there but can't tell what's what.

The otbers were same way and then a week or two later it's a growth explosion.

I've seen soooo many people talk about flipping to flower after only 4 weeks but it's still in the sloe growth phase from what I'm seeing

I have two that were born 4/4 so that's 9 weeks veg already and they're legit bushes and the growth is exponential now she has so much more surface area of leaves and such a bigger trunk to transfer nutrients it's seriously a dime diameter already and I still can't flip for another two weeks looks like maybe three.

I'm going to have to start LST on them next feedng I've been putting it off bc I'm half unsure what to do but I don't have e a choice

PS I seem to have several plants telling me that when you top this early and young, the side shoots are indeed allowed to swell enough that they themselves become tops. I have a few plants that have several unaccounted for tops, I don't know if my FIMs actually worked after all, I don't think so, I think it's a combination if things.

I've noticed many plants now have first node branches that have become tops. And some nodes seem to have four branches that go off and become tops and I'm wondering if they were the fims

This is the recipe for the soil I made today. 30 gallons worth

2 parts organic soil
2 parts Perlite
1.5 part peat
.5 part coir

14 cups worm castings
3 cups bone meal
2 cups of this lime/epsom mix stuff
2 cups fertilizer made mostly of alfalfa and kelp meal and a bunch of other stuff
Gypsum
2 handfuls of leopard tortoise poop. (my secret ingredient)

I didn't realize I had to let it sit for 30 days before using it though. I'm kind of bummed about that. I want to grow now.

So these 2 plastic wire meshes are there at my outdoor location now.

I will admit, I think the indirect light I've been giving it during its vegetation stage right now has been 'stunting' it's growth if I could say such a thing.

So does it really need like 18-24 hours of sunlight a day or is 12 cool? If 12 i'm probably going to have to go out there tomorrow morning with some hedge clippers or something and get choppin shit up...

it needs more than 12 hoursto stay in veg. more than 14 hours to be safe. Doesn’t have to be direct sunlight just enough light that the plant doesn’t think it’s night time. How many plants do you have there? I’d say space them out more. And if your days are short get some sort of light that can give it 2 or 3 extra hours
And pull out all the other surrounding plants and mulch them around the plants

So do you think if I put a light there throughout the night it would be alright? as long as its just enough light, no blaring...

And there are 5. I think they are already spread out goo enough though...

Please note I'm only using 8 teaspoons of floranova for 8 gallons of water resevoir for two weeks each time.

This is only 8 teaspoons for 25 plants for two weeks.

Watering once every two or three days for two weeks can easily take double or triple those nutes watering normally. For 25 plants at 1 spoon per gallon. You can easily use over 1-4 gallons per watering if youre watering properly.

Same goes for the usual 5 gallon single plant dwc this is 5 spoons per two weeks compared to 2-3 spoons/gallons per watering or more.

Days are long enough for outdoor now. Plants don't need 18 hour days to veg, 14 is fine and at least 8 of those 14 should be direct sunlight (ideally direct sun all day). If they are in the shade all day they will grow slower and they will be weak and vulnerable to pests and disease.

Your plants also won't stretch so much and have so much space between the nodes if you give them more direct light.

I would start pinching tops soon.

I wonder if anyone has done a full grow on 14-hour lights or 16-hour lights and notice any difference surely someone has tried to be cheap over the years and run shorter time frames on indoor HID lighting

Also I have read a lot about people transitioning to flower slowly like going 16-hour lights down to 14 13 and then finally 12 over the course of a week and a half maybe 2 weeks.

I read more than one person say it helps reduce stretch at beginning of flower but I don't know how true that is

Anyone try easing into flower?

Yea, it's called outdoor.

Days arent 18-24 hours long unless you live in Alaska or some shit.

(I know you're referring more to indoor, just teasing)

You guys gotta understand this should be my first successful grow and I am very picky on what I believe (and sometimes from who- if I know them IRL)

So please tell me... because I don't know what week I am on in the Veg stage. But I am told it's a good idea to take these babies that are in the soil there in the ground

and put them in medium sized pots, because just incase of pests. I did even find last night one slug by one of em and tossed em away. Also today I found one leaf on one had like a Lil strip off/eaten off (idk). I will probably pull out that leaf later today.

So I was thinking, what should I fill the pot up with and what should be the ratio of each soil/nutes in each?

I used good pot soil which idk the, NPK ratio of anymore, with perlite, vermiculite and worm castings which is the mix that is there.

I would leave them in the ground, you'll get the same pests in pot and you'd risk damaging the roots while digging them up.

On the other hand I think your spacing is a bit tight, they might be a little cramped by the end of the season when they're big in-ground monsters.

Looks like probably week 3. They look slightly pale to me, they could use a bit of food. If you have some horse manure I would top-dress the soil around the plants with some and water it in, or mix some in a watering can and use that to water them. If you have veg nutrients you can use that as well, anything rich in nitrogen.

Your soil mix sounds great. Best of luck.

Topped my girls again last night. This time I got wise and potted all the big ones in a lazy (but hopeful) attempt at cloning, I ripped off the bottom two leaves of all these babies to give a good length of stem to stab in the ground.

Some hearty looking plants :awesome: . I recall seeing that strain and that Magash fella over on the growery.

Do you plan on transplanting into a larger size after the 10 gallon?

What sort of soil are you working with? Are you using any particular fertz/nutes?

I'm going to be transplanting within the next week or two. Mine are in 1 gallon pots right now (plants are about 18 inches tall from top of pot), I'm considering putting them right into a 25 gallon fabric pot (25gal is the biggest I'm going)....I'm at that point where, as a first time grower, I'm trying to decide on what soil I'm going to go with. There's soooo many different options around here, and from my research online I can't find any consistent answers/opinions on what soil supplier/brand is consistently an all around quality soil.....I think I'm going to end up going with some "roots organics" soil (or possibly one of the local bulk super-soil suppliers), and use "Dr. Earth" fertilizers/amendments.

It's going to be damn hot in our area this weekend, around 105 if not a lil hotter...Is there a certain temp at which you'll shade the plants a bit? I intend on moving my plants into the shade this weekend during the peak light/temps of the day.

heat and intense sun plus water is the best. seems like most problems are from too much of one nutrient lacking the other. when you've got this going on the plant is on one yeeee!

I got my autoflower seeds today! I still have to wait a couple weeks for my soil to finish composting.

These are my Gelato clones. I'm going to be moving them outside within a few days. I'm acclimating them to the sun a little more each day.

This is my Sour D which seems to be the least happy. You guys suggested that it was hungry and I said it might be a PH problem because PH is over 7.5. I started adding some vinegar to it's water. Is it hungry or PH or both?
