Have I mentioned Jackson, Mississippi in this thread? Pretty sure I have.
That city makes me sad.

I don't consider the majority of PA to be in the northeast, though the argument could be made for Erie as an exception.
Geographically it arguably is, but culturally and politically it is a Midwestern state.

Yee there's a lot of nuance when you get down to it. California easily has 5-8 really distinct regions in itself. Oregon has a good 5 or so I can think of as well.

My neighbor has that plant (in North Oregon) and its fucking huge! I wonder if its really a banana tree or something similar looking but more shrubby? I can't imagine having bananas this far north but that'd be as sick as it gets

Yeah outside bananas will die off when it gets below the mid 30’s. The palm trees will withstand 20-25-° for a short period. Right along the coast the temperature is highly moderated by the ocean so it tends not to get super cold.

San Antonio, Texas.
Full of obese, unintelligent belligerent morons. The rate of obesity is sky high, the rate of illiteracy, and communists from third world shitholes like Mexico that hate the United States. They get to stay because it's a liberal sanctuary city. It's full of satanists, meth addicts, heroin addicts, crackheads, pedophiles and rapists. The sex offender database reveals that the rate of sex offenders here is extraordinarily high compared to most places.
It's a military city and a lot of ex military here work for private sector PsyOPs companies, so gang stalking is common place. Cruelty to animals is everywhere and child abuse is common place.
We have the only privately owned Bio Safety Level 4 facility, where they study things like Ebola and H1N1, as well as several other government owned facilities where they study infectious diseases.

Controversy April 14 2018 Baboons escaped from the facility, local news station report here:
https://www.ksat.com/news/on-the-run-ksat-viewer-photos-show-primate-running-along-san-antonio-street
In 2015, it was announced that the institute is under a federal investigation after the death of at least five primates over a five-year period. According to news reports, one monkey was crushed to death by a cage door, another died from strangulation and another from blood poisoning following a traumatic injury.[13][14]
In 2014, the Humane Society of the United States released undercover footage from inside the institute which, according to the animal welfare group, “found a pattern of animal mistreatment, including overcrowding and lack of veterinary care”.[15] The group said their investigation found animals suffering from severe stress and improper treatment after injuries. In response, the institute argued they have “a long-standing commitment to treating animals humanely and with the highest regard for their well-being, and…continuously seek to enhance the care provided to” the animals in their facility.[16]
Between 2012-2015, the institute has been cited by federal inspectors for at least 16 alleged violations of the Animal Welfare Act.[17] In 2012, the institute was fined $25,714 for alleged violations and two years prior, it paid a $6,094 settlement to the government for additional alleged violations.[18]
The institute says the alleged violations are a result of isolated incidents and are not reflective of their treatment of the monkeys in their laboratories.[19]
I honestly can't say anything good about San Antonio, except maybe that there's a lot of good artists.
Tons of satanists. There was this one case where a woman microwaved her baby and ate part of it before being arrested, said Satan told her to. Not all of them are crazy, some of the Satanists work for the government and have access to a lot of creepy stuff/information.
San Antonio is a threat to national security. There's homeless people and crime everywhere except for in the richest neighborhoods, human feces and dirty syringes all over the ground, used condoms, etc.
Just a horrible place all around. Should be nuked.

Does a free trip seem more enjoyable than it should in Nashville staying at Opryville in Tennessee? I think it was the coke shoved up my ass on the flight and all I remember is walking through this massive indoor garden, high as hell, and calling my brother saying this is fucking great. And the TSA agent, black dude, staring me down and I felt the fear. He knew, I know he knew. Cool of him, lol. Just for personal use, not balloons and shit. Boring trip.
Then it's Nashville and was for free to visit my dad at the time and said ok. He was at a conference business trip and we were having lunch with someone he was working with and he asked are you on drugs? I couldn't make decent conversation. I said something about Kansas, as I drank I lot of Robotussin, mind doesn't function well. I just blurted out Kansas on coke and robo. At that time. I still have no fucking idea why, my dad was unaware I was on anything or I did drugs, makes me laugh thinking about it.
Nashville. I remember very little. The garden, I could give a shitless about the history of it though I remember people trying to get me to somehow pay homage to it, like it was a sacred temple or something. I just left and went into the massive garden.

It's quite interesting how Morocco can be so religiously and morally strict in some areas, and what seems like spring break destination in others. Even inside the same city like Marrakesh. I've never been there, but have a good friend I grew up with who moved out there 5 years ago. The way he explains it to me, and through his pictures, it seems like it's just a constant party of smoking hashish, eating keef, and going on yachts with beautiful women. Then again, he's a French national that plays poker for a living so his lifestyle is probably not comparable to the general population there.
I've mentioned Jackson, MS to be the worst city I've ever been to. And of course it's a decrepit old Southern town where everyone there wants to leave, but in a worldly view, it's not such a bad place.
No worse than Chicago in my eyes.
But realistically out of the places I've seen in my life, there is no comparison to Rocinha, the favela that houses hundreds of thousands of people right behind one of the most glamorous beaches in the world in Rio De Janeiro. Last time I was there I stayed at a hotel across the street from the beach with a balcony facing inland. And that's just some crazy culture shock even though I lived there as a child. To be sitting in a hotel where I had all the amenities I'd come to expect out of a good hotel in any 1st world country, and looking outside to see families of 10+ crammed into a leaky shack they put together with scavenged trash is heartbreaking. Seeing literal toddlers on the street by themselves begging for money or having to steal from tourists so they can eat... It's incredibly sad what happens in most of the developing world. The constant sound of gunshots through the night, every night is really disturbing as well, but it seems that no one cares as it's their reality.
Income disparity and over the top corruption by anyone in a position of power in 3rd world countries leads to an extremely morbid contrast in those areas of the world.
