How long to incubate casings?
    #2527034 - 04/05/04 11:37 AM (13 years, 4 months ago)

After you apply the casing layer, how long do you typically have to wait until it is ready to birth? Hypothetically speaking, if I had one big bin with about 4" of substrate cased with about 3/4" coir/verm, how long would it take until the mycellium was poking through?

There is no sour smell, everything is very earthy. The spawn run was extremely fast, but it just doesn't seem to be doing much with the casing layer. Could it be because I added calcium carbonate (I didn't add that much)? Temps are above 84 F.

I know that patience is key, I'm just wondering how long it usually takes! :wtf:

it usually is 3-10 days to even out the myc by patching.

You could also just put it right into the fruiting chamber but tis better to patch and aim for an even pinset. be patient
