Coir is THE substrate for growing Trich. It's literally what they use for industrial Trichoderma production (mixed with grain like rice).

If a dirty room is completely harmless, why do we remove a moldly tub? A heavy spore load is more likely than a light spore load to contaminate. I'd bet $5 on that. I also grow on the floor (long story)... this multiplies the problem. Its there or no growing for me at all.
So I just bought a mini greenhouse and will mix up my monos in there carefully, tape them up and keep them in my not so clean area with the fans off for the first few weeks. I'll report back with my results.
Might want to focus on your spawning some. The exposure during spawning is far more detrimental. You can transfer the mold into it on your hands.

Ths is exactly what I'm planning on doing. I've been too casual, cause I see people leveling the substrate with their bare hands in teks. For some reason, I gotta be cleaner.

I'm proposing that my room air is dirty. so its more than hand washing. I've been using gloves.

What RR has said is true with a fully colonized grain spawn there is almost no risk of contaminants if you aren't directly introducing them to the substrate. As your sub uses more nutrients to produce fruit the strength and resistance of the mycelium deminishes considerably. I usually get 2 solid flushes before I start seeing contams and this is strictly in spring/summer. Keeping cooler conditions and during winter in general I seem to get more than 2 flushes and they don't contaminate as fast. Always pasteurize your substrate even if you're just top dressing and you shouldn't have any issues. Without reading I'm sure others have suggested similar

No need to got over the top with cleaning but wipe things down with lysol wipes or something. Should help if your worried about contamination

if that was the case, all of my shit would be fucked. cause Ive had plenty of trich happen after the 2nd or 3rd flush. or I forgot to check on tubs for a week or two.
