Cake cemetery?

Ok I been putting cakes and breaking some up into dirt and leaves/twiggy compost stuff.I really do not have much hope(Canada-rather cold at night) but According to what I read It's not possible in my area. But I live in a freak area that's semi arid(All most desert because of our location to the mountains) and gets rather hot a few months in the summer-it may work. I noticed some mycelium is spreding some what.So not all is dying in the cold- I was surprised.Hardy stuff.I have lots of cakes in there.LOTS.
Wondering how I could increase my odds of getting something to fruit? Should I get horse poo-I have access to a field just a walk from my house. I am really not sure If I should even waste my time according to my outdoor night temps.I think its just a Cake Cemetery.

It wouldn't hurt to collect horse poop and cover the area with it, mycelium is specialized in finding water where water is scarce.

Ok - sounds possible. There not freezing at night, more like warm fridge temps'- -a few weeks it should be room temp's at night.Day time is 24-30 C lately. There is a mix of strain's in there, not sure if that matters?
I just grab some poo, nice older stuff and spred it on top.Its a nice field, I looked at a pile the other day, looked like what a guy wants.Dry-sunbleached.

Good luck with that. I've never done an outdoor grow, but I think your chances aren't bad. The mix of varieties doesn't matter. all cubes

Every area has "micro-climates" dictated by unique characteristics to that particular property/location. Take three houses, one on the valley floor, one half way up the valley, and the last one on the peak. The lowest house gets little sun during the day and all the cold air sinks to the valley floor. The top house gets full sun and winds from sunrise to sunset. Great views but the biggest swings in climate as well. Half way up the valley, hopefully south facing, you get the best of all worlds.
SO...your little area MAY have a nice, warmer micro climate. Also as a personal story I have composted several old cakes in my backyard compost pile and had them some how over the winter survive and colonize my backyard soil by that summer! That wasn't on purpose just run away mushrooms.

I put a discarded cube sub under some leaves, grass then covered it with plastic, then more leaves and grass while it was still freezing at night here. Just picked 6 or 8 shrooms off it 2 days ago.

Plastic I was thinking that-make a raised sheet as to cause a humid kinda airy layer. Its not freezing and wont anymore- still cold at night-too cold.
I watered it but it raining now-so I need to let it dry out, then maybe some plastic sheets will help.I have a layer of leaves and dry old flower plants stems-with a layer of real dry horse poo on top, with some left over Verm on top of that-I spred it rather thin-but a good amount-Should some day fruit.
There's a few more cakes in there now-might be another few-I get rid of them If I think there suspect-having so much trouble.I kinda drenched a few over watering-some so dry and I dunked those.I tried to fork and redunk a few but I think there going outside also. There in there own little bio-dome.
4 other cakes are fruiting- I may have been rash in getting rid of some but I do not want to risk them getting squishy gross like the few others-not sure if this is contagous.I think there over moist and getting killed.I make sure not to spray cakes directly now.

Cubensis may fruit in a very wide range of conditions. A friend of mine put his cakes in the fridge for vacation, when he came back three weeks later they fruited inside the fridge. With no light, way too low temperatures and no FAE (+fridges are extra dirty) I'd say your chances are still good to get fruits out of that.

the simplest thing is to bury it, or cover it with hpoo/soil/straw and water it really good and let it do its thing.
I myself, throw all my spend subs in a pile. Although, I know I could get more if I did what I stated above.

I just made it way better-added leaves and some old flower stalks-sprinkled sulphur/gypsum pellets on top-wrapped it up good with a piece of thick clear poly. Now just keep it wet and wait.I will remove the poly if it gets too hot. Today is warm 26c, it may get too hot soon and I will just put straw on top.

If u bury deep enough, they might survive.
Use Coir coir and some kind of manure-based compost. Might work

Ok -I will put a thick layer of Coco-coir on top now.it has a good layer Hpoo-leaves-maybe a bit more top soil-then coco-coir real thick layer on top.Get rid of the plastic-I know it will get way to hot very soon.4-5" layer sound good? I also have some old coco-fiber, I will add on very top kinda trap it all in.
