Lol it would work for me!

4 pounds of garlic butter 🤤 I’ll cut it into cubes and freeze to have ready.
Anyone ever just freeze minced garlic for quick use?

That is really interesting falcon. I just assumed the bulbils were the seeds. I think I want to try that just to see, I’m sure it’s not so easy but nothing to lose.
I forgot to post my garlic bed lol it’s behind the snowbank under about 3’ of snow.

I actually think it’s going to be a great year as long as we don’t get too much spring rains. So much snow on the ground, the frost really hasn’t went very deep.

it is actually milder, the "bite" is greatly reduced while sugars are elevated, when mixed into complex dishes it hides well, you can tell there is something there but its hard to identify, i think it may be a secret ingredient in "bbq sauce" flavors(judging from the smell), the ingredients list would just say "garlic" without telling you what kind, there are large expensive commercial garlic cookers available for this so a lot must be getting used somewhere

From front to back...

Spanish Red, Elephant, some kinda shallots, white softneck, with a small bed of leeks beyond that. I was worried about the leeks but it seems they're almost impossible to kill.

Put some garlic in this Sunday, traditionally I put in garlic in today, 10/23 but knew I wouldn't have time today. Going to try to get some seed. Last year I failed when the garlic didn't form scapes, probably because it was planted in the spring.
This is a head of garlic that didn't get picked this summer and started growing. Five of the cloves went into the first row on the left.

The next row was was five cloves from a big chain grocer. Then two rows of five of garlic from a Russian grocer. The heads were smaller but the cloves evenly sized and about 6 cloves to a head. Then two rows of five from Trader Joes, that were a little bit larger and very similar to the head from the Russian grocer.
The rows are about eight inches apart and the garlic about six inches away from each other in the rows.

There's some composted grass laid between the rows and then, Limestone spread on the bed, probably doesn't need the limeston in this soil, but the garlic loves it.

Covered everything with straw.

Garlic flowers with stamens. Not likely to get any seeds at all with this amount of flowers, but this is the first time I'm seeing garlic flowers making pollen in three years. Started with maybe forty stalks, besides the ones in the garden I found some in a local strip of woods. Not all of stalks had flowers that matured a lot of stalks only had one or two flowers that got to the point of making pollen.

The bucket of water has a little sugar added to it.
8/4/22 Looks like there will be some seed, only 9 scapes out of about 40 ended up making any, though there might be a few more that were left in the woods to form seed, but they were looking sparse (the flowers on most of them didn't develope) last time they were checked.
