There are these huge black solitary wasps in the desert called Tarantula Hawks. Supposed to have one of the most painful wasp stings in the world. The pain lasts for days. I always give them plenty of space because who wants to deal with that?

I'm trying to capture this weird wasp on camera. They showed up about 3 or 4 years ago.
A whole lot more beefed up than normal yellow jackets. Aggressive as all get out.
I sprayed the sweet mint down with a drop or two of dawn and the rest water. Shaken and stirred.
I think has been about two nights. No sign of damage(that I can notice) or the eggs.
Still up for debate whether they have moved on but I have a feeling it worked.
Public enemies.
Cabbage worm.
Slugs, snails, and any other slime monster they have in their family.
And a certain spoiled kitty that takes dumps in my elephant ears...

Picked up a few Gollum Jade plants today. I've always been fascinated by Crassula ovata. My indoor one looks great next to my P. albas.

Nope. I've been to Garden World and Cactus Country but not Lotusland.
I've got a Gollum plant that started from a tiny stolen cutting from a large chain store probably 8 years ago. About the size of a basketball now. Stay tuned for pics....one day.

DaturASS indeed. I want to nominate but the depth of field is too shallow.
Open it up and take some more pics Feroxx and I might be able to do that.
Or just carry on.

My Malabar Spinach is killing it w those big sexy leaves wish the other two species measured up. It might be too hot in the season now fr them. But these guys are tough... i still keep them under shade cloth though

Heres my heirloom tobacco. Doing alright so far, looks like its starting to bolt. Cant wait for some blooms!

Bought a peach tree today at my local nursery that hooks me up with free pots. Probably get another variety of satsuma soon.

Hey everyone! I have seen this question answered, but it doesn't seem to make sense to my situation. I harvested 226.1gs wet and it dried out only 11.5gs dry. I use a dehydrator. I have seen the standard 1 to 10 ratio, but im not getting that. The shrooms were picked wild. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Thanks bro. Its funny... i smoked tobacco for about twenty years and always wanted to grow my own leaf... i guess i started growing it last year... had a fw plants and smoked them and all... but it wasnt that many experiences before i decided to give up tobacco products. But even though i quit, I will likely grow it every year of my life. Its a very satisfying and easy plant to grow... regardless of whether it is farmed for its leaves or simply its beauty. Absolutely Gorgeous all the way through and it can bloom multiple times a year. Germination and early veg are the hardest phases or growth...as well as the pAtience required for a thinning or two aside from that, easy as pie on ecstasy

My echinopsis oxygona is blooming tonight. Four flowers are being opened right now. Not fully opened yet but I'm gonna stay up all night just to see the show and smell the wonderful fragrance. It smells like sweet, sugar, flowery butter I would even be lacking words in my mother tongue to describe the smell.
I get to see this show only one night a year. These wonders will fade tomorrow...
I swear I'll keep this cacti clump growing 'till I die and stare at this show every year.

They are stunning flowers. The size and rate that they grow is quite amazing.
I find they have a citrus-like smell.
Enjoy them.

Night bloomers often have beautiful fragrance.
It also reminds me of ipomoea alba's fragrance.
