Found this underneath some hay...
    #2523378 - 04/04/04 01:11 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

Hello. I found this one underneath some hay today and I don't know what it is...
The gills are white. Kinda waxy on the outside. No bluing.

If you want an ID, you'll need to follow the instructions in the sticky thread at the top of the forum. We need to have a better description to be able to accurately identify.

Happy mushrooming!

So not active and possibly poisonous. If you want an id, provide more info.

Northern San Diego, the cap is about as big as a quarter, the spore print is a bit orangeish tanish.

OK, that's good information...

Are the gills free or attached to the stem? An easy way to show us would be to cut the mushroom in half vertically and show us a photo of the inside.

Happy mushrooming!

Mitchnast,

That is not a Galerina. Galerina's are ochreaceous and cinnamon to rusty orange to orange-brownish in the caps and their gills are also orange rusty color.

I do not understandd how this persons says above h it had white gills and orange colored sporeprint. That makes no since.

But it is not a Galerina.

mj

The gills are the same color as the outside, sorry. And that picture is true to life. It has the same color all around.

With an orangish/pale brownish spore print, attached gills, and that general appearance, I'd probably go with an Agrocybe. It's still a fairly wild guess.

Happy mushrooming!
