Hello everyone, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster.. I've been growing various fungi in different contexts
(p.cub., then yeast as a part of brewing beer, and I've also grown various edible species ever since), and I wanted to start by thanking you guys for all the knowledge you are sharing here! I've spent countless hours browsing this forum and learned a lot - you all rock! Many of my grows would simply not have been possible without all of you, so I wanted to try and give something back.
I'm a pharmacist which gave me the opportunity to learn a lot about sanitation, pasteurising and sterility, microbiological growth, the cultivation of bacteria and fungi, bulk inoculant production in liquid cultures, the active and secondary compounds produced in plants and mushrooms, their physiological effects, and so on..
If anybody should have a question I might be able to help with I'd gladly give it a go! 
So if you're curious go ahead and ask! Since many aspects of fungal biology are still a bit of a mistery and because I'm just a pharmacist, without access to the newest research I will not always be able to provide an answer but I'll do my best.

Welcome along brother! I've a friend living over in Swtizerland who is also a pharmacist, sounds like a great place to live and work! Must get myself over for a visit sometime...

It definitely is a good place to live!
I enjoyed this forum for a rather long time before trying to contribute and I'll be around for a while

Sorry Psyche delics, no doctorate. Most pharmacists over here don't bother with one, actually. 2 years at the university to get a bachelor's degree though, 3 more for the master's plus the 'eidgenössische Staatsexamen' which would loosely translate to federal exam I guess.
So now, after this and 8 years of working in the field I guess I'm a fully flegded pharmacist running a beatifull old pharmacy which first opened in 1792 and is still mostly original. I love it!
I really hope I can contribute to your wonderfull comunity!

Ok, now I get it.. other drugs discussion, right? Yeah I guess I could help out with that.
Anyway, if I have a quiet night I'm going to start with a thread in edibles about todays dinner
I grew some very tasty oysters on sawdust and shredded paperwork and am still surprised at the vigor of this culture!

Hi LogicaL Chaos!
Switzerland used to be very tolerant concerning shrooms and especially cannabis, at least around the time I grew up.. You used to be able to buy weed and shrooms in regular shops in town, kind of like Amsterdam without the tourists As long as you were over 18 and seemed to have your life together nobody cared. I used to smoke weed on train rides, in fact a lot of us did..
Today there's more repression going on, but it's still pretty relaxed.
Personally, I think that mature(!) adults should be allowed to treat theyr central nervous system however they see fit, and would advocate some kind of 'driving license' for each drug as opposed to today system.. alas.

about specific swiss drugs.. I don't know really, maybe ephedra (mormon tea)? Not many people know this but ephedra, though by now it has spread all over the temperate zones, was native only to switzerland and southeast china. Officially they're different species but genetically identical (e. sinensis and e. helvetiae).
