If we could peel off even 10% of these morons there could be substantial improvements for the working class.
But theyd rather hate immigrants than improve their own lives.
Whats that LBJ quote?
Quote:
If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you.

It all comes back to education, IMO.
In many Republican controlled states, the funding for education just isn't there, which unfortunately is why so many Trump supporters are the way they are. It's that attitude of "my ignorance is just as valid as your knowledge".
And I'm not trying to say that as a put down, that really is just a matter of fact.
Many schools in places like Kansas, Arizona, Montana, Oklahoma, and other states are only in session 4 days a weekbecause the Republican politicians they keep electing keep cutting taxes and education budgets. They can't even pay teachers (who don't get paid well enough in the first place) for five days of school in a week.

There was a time when I would've agreed with the people who said the Republicans and Democrats are equally bad, but those days are long gone. There is no comparison anymore. The entire Republican party is a toxic wasteland. It's hard for me to imagine a situation where I would ever consider voting Republican again.
The Democrats have a lot of problems, but focusing on the Democrats' problems right now is like worrying about eczema when you have terminal brain cancer.

If cooperation with fellow humans is something you think is "hijacking" a thread about making fun of the opposite political party then you're the problem and should get the fuck out. You keep trying to paint me out as this pacifist trying to get everyone to hug and love and drop their guns because love will conquer all. But you're just a fool who can't grasp any other opinions. So anything that isn't "yeah I totally agree with you" is free game for you to twist and skew without any care of what's actually going on in the real world.
It just shows that there are morons like you everywhere. Even on a forum about mind opening mushrooms. But idiocy can't be cured unless the idiot wants to be cured. If you had any sense or even anything resembling competence you'd learn that I place no faith in peaceful resolution at this point. The powers that be are too ingrained in the corrupt system for anything other than force to work.
It's indicative of a weak mind and a weak personality in general that you take such offense and resort to dense idiocy when faced with the idea that your team is a joke and the entire concept of "right and left" that you obviously hold so highly is a joke. I'm so sorry i disrupted your echo chamber and showed you the possibility that your crutch is pathetic. Now you actually have to rely on your own opinions and thoughts instead of relying on your teams pre made opinions. That and you'll actually have to find other things to talk about other than "lol look at this dumb right winger I found on YouTube.".
Terribly sorry I ruined your little party.
You didn't disrupt anybodies echo chamber. To do that you actually need to make cohesive points and debate. So far you have pretty much just called The Ecstatic a big, mean idiot, then proceeded to do the exact same thing you are attempting to criticize him for. You come into this thread and do the exact thing you are supposedly against. That is the modern Republican party in a nutshell. You didn't disrupt anything, you just further confirmed my existing bias towards Trump supporters/defenders by reinforcing my existing stereotypes.
I'm sorry that you are tired of hearing about left vs right, but nobody gives a shit.
Ya know what I'm tired of? Having a reality TV star as president. Trump was the butt of all the jokes, ridiculed even amongst Republicans....until he became the nominee. And now we are supposed to unite under him? The president that nobody wanted? The president that most people didn't vote for? The less popular candidate that was considered a joke even by many of his fellow Republicans? How did they really expect this to play out?
I'm tired of people telling me they are worried about "China calling in the debt" when these same people don't even know what a Treasury Bond IS. Then they have the nerve to try to tell me that "liberals just don't understand economics". Yeah, I'm pretty tired of that.
I'm also pretty tired of people in West Virginia thinking they are entitled to jobs there just because their daddy worked in a coal mine. Here is a crazy idea - maybe they should MOVE TO A PLACE WHERE THE CAN GET A JOB. It's what people have been doing for thousands of years. Why do they think they deserve to be able to live and work in the same place they grew up in? Do they think they are entitled to that just because they grew up there? That's not how capitalism works. The problem isn't "anti-coal Democrats". The problem is the fact that it is easier/cheaper to mine coal in places like Wyoming now, and that's not something a politician can change. Yet these people were stupid enough to vote on that issue.
These are just a couple of examples, but I could go on all day. I'M fucking tired of it. I'm tired of them thinking their ideas are just as good when they are not. I'm tired of them continually NOT delivering.
Most of all, I'm tired of pretending like "tribalism" or "us vs them" is the problem. NEWSFLASH-some ideas are better than others. Some religions are better than others. Some political parties are better than others. Some countries are better places to live than other countries. Some people are Lebron James, some people are completely paralyzed. Life isn't always fair.
Just because you are tired of the debate doesn't mean the Republican ideas don't suck.
If you disagree, tell me WHY I'm wrong. Don't try to give me some bullshit about "tribalism", though. "Tribalism" is a fact of life, and some tribes are better than others.

Humanity is a tribe.
Italians used to hate Irish who hated Saxons who hated Germanians who hated the Gauls.
What stopped that? Oh right we all just started calling them "white" after awhile. We dont NEED to divide ourselves into small categories. Its not rational, and its not a fact of life. Its just an excuse for you to be able to not give a shit about people born in another country (unless that country is in Europe).

While I don't necessarily agree with tribalism, I do think it is a part of our world, but just to be clear, I don't mean "tribalism" in a racist or prejudiced way.
I will welcome anybody into my "tribe" as long as they are tolerant of everybody else, Muslims and Mexicans included, of course.
But if people are going to be assholes they are not welcome. One thing I don't think we should be tolerant of is intolerance.
Whether it is an intolerant Muslim, or an intolerant Trump supporter, people who cannot be chill need to GTFO.
https://wreg.com/2018/07/10/91-year-old-man-visiting-family-beaten-with-brick-told-go-back-to-mexico/
People like this^^, who beat an elderly man and tell him to "go back to your own country" would definitely not be welcome in my tribe.
Quote:
WILLOWBROOK, Ca. — Tears glistened on the black and purple bruises covering 91-year-old Rodolfo Rodriguez’s face as he described being attacked by a group of people while going for a walk on the Fourth of July.
“I can’t walk anymore,” Rodriguez said in Spanish. “I’m in so much pain.”
He’ll be turning 92 in September, Rodriguez said, and he’s never been hurt like this before, in a life working the fields with cattle and corn.
He had traveled from Michoacan, Mexico, to visit his family in Willowbrook, California, a city in Los Angeles County, his grandson Erik Mendoza said.
He makes the trip about twice a year, and takes a walk through the neighborhood every day after lunch, Mendoza said. “Everyone in the neighborhood knows him already,” he said.
Rodriguez said he was walking to a nearby park on Wednesday when he passed a woman and a little girl. Without warning, the woman assaulted him, he said, hitting him with a concrete block and enlisting a group of men to join in beating him.
“I didn’t even bump into her kid,” Rodriguez said. “I just passed her and she pushed me and she hit me until she was done.”
Police are looking for “a female suspect and three to four male suspects” in the assault, the LA County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement Monday night.
Authorities don’t know at this time if any weapons were used or what the motive might have been, the statement said.
“We are concerned, especially with the type of crime they committed,” Sheriff’s Deputy D’Angelo Robinson told CNN affiliate KTLA. “There was what appears to be a four-year-old child there who witnessed the entire thing. We can’t have these kind of people like that out in the streets.”
Misbel Borjas was driving by when she saw the woman hitting Rodriguez repeatedly in the head with a concrete block, she said.
“I heard her saying, go back to your country, go back to Mexico,” she told CNN by phone. “When I tried to videotape her with my cell phone, she threw that same concrete block, tried to hit my car.”
Rodriguez said he doesn’t remember when the woman picked up the concrete block, but he remembers being hit repeatedly. At one point, he says, the woman ran up to a group of men nearby and told them Rodriguez was trying to take her daughter away from her – so the men joined her and started kicking him as he lay bleeding on the sidewalk, Rodriguez said.
“But that’s not true,” he said, through tears. “In the years I have been alive I have never offended anyone.”
Mendoza said his grandfather suffered a broken jaw, broken cheekbones, two broken ribs and bruises on his face, back and abdomen. He spent five or six hours in the hospital, he said.
The family has started a GoFundMe campaign to help cover Rodriguez’s medical costs.
As his grandfather laid back in a reclining chair at the family home, wearing a white T-shirt and blue plaid pajamas, Mendoza kissed him on one of the few places he hadn’t been injured: the top of his head.
“We think we have an idea (on who the suspects are) but I just want police to find them,” Mendoza said. “That’s all our family wants, justice for our grandpa.”

Really, members of your tribe aren't going to prejudge others? That's impossible.
"I will welcome anyone into my "tribe" as long as they are tolerant of everyone else"
Really, you want people in your tribe that would be tolerant of religious people that endorse homophobia and unequal treatment of women?
What about people that are tolerant of pedophilia?
"if people are going to be assholes they're not welcome"
So basically it comes down to doing and believing whatever you mandate.
"people who cannot be chill need to GTFO"
Or do exactly what you want.

Please, stop with the strawmans.
He stated his tribe wouldn't make prejudgments, I suggested that's impossible.
He also stated he only wants religious people (Muslims) that are tolerant, talk about pie in the sky.

I guess it's his way of saying he's racist but prefers that no one call him that.

Your argument has been that since people are prejudged, it's cool to discriminate against them.

Nice strawman. I have stated that everyone prejudges other humans and their environments for a large variety of reasons.

I didn't disagree with you nor did I say people operate with a blank slate, so the strawman is yours.
What I meant is exactly what I said: Since people are prejudged, you think it's cool to discriminate against them.

Which is why you shouldn't discriminate based on prejudgments.
