After trying to raise a handful of psylicybe sp. I have decided that cubes are far too easy to grow. Only oysters are as forgiving or as accommodating. I confess even with perfect spawn I've yet to make another p. sp. reproduce. so far...

I confess I have 2 Ape swabs and after numerous attempts (like 16 in total over the course of a couple of months) I can't get either to germinate

Ape swabs are pretty hard to germinate bro. I tried a print about that many times (on 4 section plates) and finally got one to germinate. Unfortunately mold germinated in a section next to it and in the process of moving the plate from the shelf to the SAB I agitated a bunch of mold spores and sent them airborne throughout the dish. I lost her on the receiving dish......she was a good petri dish, and well loved.....

Would writing with that be the equivalent of having a wank/rubbing one out? If you are religious you might feel guilty?

Cheap .3 shark ones and a cheap .5mm. The shark ones are pretty good even though they look silly and plastic.
Edit: its totally munch's idea but I can't resist trying it. And oh I do plan to rub one out while writing with it, but I'm not really considering it a religious thing.

They act like they've never seen a grown man running through the streets at midnight with a sleeve of petris in his hand.

My recommendation for a cheap fountain pen is a Platinum Preppy or Pilot Varsity, both are $3 and refillable. Pilot Varsity are sold in 7 packs at Michael's art stores. The Platinum Preppy is also available as a refillable marker tip like a sharpie.

Could those tips be attached to a turkey or pheasant feather? That would be going old school. Would also need one of those stamps where you melt the wax and stamp your seal on it. And a cage full of ravens. GOT style! Lol

Ravens would be pretty cool.

Edit: I apreciate the pen recommendation. For now i won't act on it as I have 13 pens on order already and a handful kicking around, but I will note your picks for next time. Ive already ruined my first ink extraction. I used 70% iso and left it too long uncovered.
I was thinking of mixing spores and pigment in a purchased ink rather than formulating a new ink. I'm sure I've seen tintable inks online somewhere.

feather quills have the tips carved into the feather and no reservoir to hold ink. you must dip them to write. so no, you cant attach nibs to a quill.
spores would probably be best used with a dip pen. they might clog a fountain.
