Baseball is #1 in my book. Giants pitchers have been plagued by injuries. Cueto is out after a Cy Young caliber start, but Mad Bum should be back soon. Mac Williamson was hitting bombs before he ran into a wall head first. Hopefully he comes back soon. If the Giants stay afloat long enough for Cueto and Bum to get back into rhythm i think they can get a wildcard.

Dodgers suck ass. :haha:

Thanks for the response Ran-D. Baseball is my favorite sport for sure. The Red Sox started out super hot this year, then we started to lose to some poor teams. Mookie Betts has been phenomenal.

Not a ton of injuries for us, but our #2 pitcher (Price) supposedly got carpal tunnel from playing some video game! Like, c'mon brah.

Our division is mostly bums, but that Yankees line up is intimidating... No worries, we got this.

It's a long season!

Dodgers really do suck this year which is fine.  Being a Rockies fan it's great and Arizona is finally starting to lose.  Will be interesting who gets the wildcard, doubt it will be San Fran but if they do they do.  I love seeing games there, the vibe and city is amazing and is a great small vacation.

Boston and New York are amazing to watch this year with their payrolls and talent.  The Yanks won like what?  17 out of 18?  Wish I would of rode that streak betting for awhile.  Even though the Astros are still great am thinking it will either be Boston or the Yankees that take it all this year depending on health as they both have the payroll and talent.

I love going to baseball games and stream game recaps on mlb on my apple t.v.  You aren't the only baseball fan out there.  It is a great sport.

You're right, Giants might have a better shot at winning the division than winning a Wild Card since our division seems to suck ass this year. D bags are only 4 games up right now.

I see your Rockies in 2nd but honestly I dont see that lasting.

Yeah, Brewers taking 3 out of 4 at Coors sucked.  They have no pitching.  Long season though.  Just wondering when Kershaw comes back if the Dodgers go on some massive winning streak like the Yanks did and win 14 out of 15 or something simular.  They have so much talent.  D-Backs do to as well but way to early to call the division.  Just glad to see them losing lately.  Never get tired of seeing the Dodgers lose.

I root for the Giants because I love to visit San Fran and they have such a fun hostel there that was made out of a fort and is on the wharf, and the ballpark environment is amazing.  People have a lot of fun at the games there as people in that city are pretty open and liberal and enjoy themselves.  Live and let live.  L.A. seems hostile in comparsion.  My birthplace.

Yea I love that park. Really need to get to a couple games this year. Prices are actually affordable for the first time in years. I even saw some seats starting at $6, thats 2 tickets for the price of a single beer . I guess this is the upside of sucking.

A's games can be pretty fun too. At least when the team doesnt totally suck, their crowd knows how to have fun. Got to see them play the Yankees in the playoffs one year and had a blast.

Also, I gotta shout out any possible Pirates fans we have on here. They gave Cutch an ovation he will never forget, and they did it all 3 games of the series. Very classy.

Yeah, Cole and Clutch.  They are building a contender.  Oh wait, they can't afford them.  But San Fran and Houston can.  Though the Pirates are playing well so far.

That is amusing.  Dodgers just won today but watching highlights having the same record as the Marlins.  A Dodger fan gave me so much shit about being a Rockies fan, like it was so pathetic.  I was born in L.A. but have lived more in Denver.  Fuck the Dodgers, when I take a cheap flight with a backpack to L.A. and the beach it is on to Anaheim and to see the Japanese guy they acquired and Trout.

Nice to see Verlander on his game though and completely dominate him.  Guessing he is very happy to have gotten a ring last year and be out of Detroit.

And Bartolo Colon still killing it, dude turns 45 soon. I was wanting the Giants to pick him up in the off-season, we really could use him right about now.

Brandon Belt suggests umpire made bad call on purpose to try 'to get the game over with

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.yahoo.com/amphtml/sports/brandon-belt-suggests-umpire-made-bad-call-purpose-try-get-game-041048948.html

A walk would have brought the tying run to the plate, but instead the umpire calls a strike on a ball that EVERYONE agrees was clearly outside.

Brandon said:
It’s tough because you hope an umpire doesn’t affect the game like that... But he did, and you’re not sure if it was on purpose either. I’ve heard the guy multiple times say that, or insinuate, that he’s trying to get through the game fast, and then he makes calls like that, that I can’t imagine he really thought was a strike. You gotta wonder.

I blame anyone who has ever complained about pace of game. Baseball is fine how it is Damnit! Basketball and football are wayyyyy slower! Shit I watched Warriors Rockets the other night and they were going to commercials after 2-3 minutes of play every time. Not to mention coaches call timeouts EVERY time the game starts getting exciting. Basketball and football have zero flow.

I agree.  And they keep putting more and more replays in with baseball when you play 162 games a season.  Am tired of them pointing after a play at a base or plate then seeing the catcher or fielder immediately point to the manager in the dugout for a replay.  Wish they would of just stuck with the replay of if homeruns are homeruns or not.

The amount of timeouts the give NBA teams is ridiculous which includes automatic television timeouts.  And though they are making more money in the NBA then ever before but start putting corporate logos on the jerseys?  Everytime I think of the Celtics I think of General Electric.  It's just American greed.

Football has it's own problems but IMO it is far less then the other two most popular sports in the States.

When you talk about a ump that just wanted a game done with years ago there was a 18 inning Rockies/Pirates game.  I watch extra inning games if I am not busy and drink my favorite beverage.  So there it is like, one a.m. something and the tag was put on when the guy was so far away and just starting to slide into the plate and so obvious and the home plate ump called him safe.

It was the worst call I have ever seen and I have watched a lot of baseball.  The Rockies manager who was Hurdle at the time went ballastic.  I just found it amusing as the ump knew and just didn't give a shit, he was tired of the game lasting that long.

A Chicago Tribune story from 2 days ago said the White Sox were on pace to to have the worst record in modern history. They have won one of their last two games which could foul up this bid for immortality.

Yes.  I mainly just watch highlights streamed of teams I am interested in but didn't know the wrong Sox where on pace to be that epically bad.  Sale to the other Sox doesn't help of course.  Made me laugh when he cut up his 70's leisure style on a retro jersey night before his start and refused to wear it.  You can do that when you are a CY Young winner I guess.

I would still go to a Sox game on the South Side as I have been there if they would bring back nickel beer night.  Or maybe instead of disco night and blowing them up midfield between a doubleheader you could do that with CD's you no longer can stand to listen to.  I would attend and participate.

Yes, Chris Sale is a beast. Few have the command that he does. Our game just ended, and Martinez hit 2 more homers today, which ties Mookie Betts' MLB leading 15 home runs this season.

Pretty amazing to have 2 hitters like that on the same team!!

Good show boys, good show.

:congrats:

Great signing to get J.D. and what Mookie is doing is amazing to watch as a just a baseball fan in highlights.  Just glad to see the Yankees finally starting to lose some games.  Of all the teams in baseball I hate the Yankees the worst for many reasons I won't go into.  Plus I have never lost once betting on Boston.  Only team I can say that about which of course makes me like them even more when money is involved.  They have something special with this years team.

Watched him pitch in at San Fran.  The crowd was so into him each inning he pitched and won of course.  Is amazing the D-Backs have lost 10 of 11 and the Rockies are in first place.  But with a hundred games to go don't think it is set in stone.  Will be nice to see him back soon.  I love his fuck you attitude.

Well, it is better than P.E.D.'s  For the baseball fans, I have my thoughts on this like they want to make the game more exciting among other things.  But it makes a lot more sense why baseballs are going a lot farther then before on some great pitches.  Like someone hitting one out of the dirt basically and it just kept carrying over the fence.  Whatever.  Pitchers and batters adjust.
