Jars for cultivation
    #2520864 - 04/03/04 05:47 AM (20 years, 18 days ago)

I was wondering where you could acquire jars for cultivating. I don't see any of the sponsors that have them for sale. I'm talking about the jars like I've seen for lion's mane production, and some others. Are they readily available and I'm just not seeing them?

Doesn't Fungi Perfecti sell jars for this purpose?

Mason canning jars work fine. You can also use salsa jars, pickle jars, jars spagetti comes in, ect.  Don't use mayonaise pints and quarts the glass is very thin and breaks easily. I found this out the hard way at least three times. They look very tempting. :smirk:

I really like the mason jars. They are tough.

And at $7 or $8 a case with caps quite a bargain!

As for where, they are common in grocery and hardware
store in my area.

if you live in the united states there oughta be a walmart, k-mart, or target near you selling mason or kerr canning jars for damn cheap. anywhere from 4-8 dollars for a case of 12.
