Java Virtual Engine?
    #2521185 - 04/03/04 11:23 AM (13 years, 7 months ago)

Whenever I go to view a webcam or something I get this popup that alerts me to go to the Windows Update site to download a java engine or whatnot. I'm using Windows XP Professional and recently reformatted, before reformatting there wasn't any problem, I had some sort of Java Virtual Engine that took care of everything. But whenever I click the Download button on the prompt it takes me to a window site and it's not there to download, I later find out this is due to some conflicit inbetween Windows and Sun Microsystems or something about who owns the engine or something fucked up. I don't care about that. I care about viewing webcams, where can I download what I need?

Try here. It works on mine (with XP Home), although I'm using Firefox as my browser. I can't tell you if it will work with Internet Explorer.

Micro$oft does not support any new virtual machine binaries for WinXP. To make this work, you should download the last working build (ver.3802) which is in fact for w2k but works for XP.
Download the file from this link and install. Everything should work now.

You logged in as admin and is downloading enabled under IE security settings? Check Tools - Internet Options - Security - Custom Level - Downloads - File Download - Enabled.

The page has dynamic links ....
Try it from this page and follow the links. Second page click on "Weiter zum Download geht's hier" to make it faster. I know the page is in german but it's getting harder to find that file on the internet. Capitalist SOBs!
The link....
