Peroxide
    #2521058 - 04/03/04 10:26 AM (14 years, 1 month ago)

I just set up my 80 gallon aquarium for a fruiting chamber. I've been reading and some people suggest misting their cakes while fruiting with a water/h2o2 mixture. Is this a good idea? If so what concentration do you suggest. I was thinking at 30%, 500ML of water and 1ML of peroxide. So lemme know what you think b/c peroxide is suppose to be the shizznit.

With cakes I don't think there's any reason to mist the cakes directly...you just want to keep them in a very humid environment , then dunk between flushes to replenish water content. you could use an h2o2 sol'n to dunk in though. I'd use 10 parts water to 1 part peroxide or less. Don't go crazy, you don't want it eating up your mycelium!

OK, well I'd still like some input on the peroxide, but here's my next question, i have jars with no shoulder and i cant get the damn cake out of the thing.... If i were to sterilize a knife could i cut them in half? Any advice would be great...

No shoulder???
Just use a clean knife. No need to sterilize.
Direct misting/Peroxide is a good idea for cakes only when casing imo
If youre not gonna case then I would Dunk in the fridge between flushes. I prefer a little bleach for dunking but thats just me.

What do you mean by caseing imo? So i should mist my cakes? Ok with the 30%h2o2, does 20ML to 200ML of water sound good? How often should i mist them?  :wexican:
