ID request in pa

I came back to a previous patch and now there are some lighter caps mixed in. Do ovoids come this light? Thanks!

Yep, they're just getting bleached by wind/sun

See that greenish/blue tint? That's what you want to see.

bleached by wind and sun is inaccurate, but not wholly incorrect, i guess.

ovoids, like many other mushrooms, are hygrophanous and as such change color with changing water content.

Do you have a dehydrator?  If not, spread out on news paper in front of a fan

I think they weren't dry enough. I have this mold? On them now. Is it safe still?

You cant leave them piled up on one another when drying and they have to have atleast a fan blowing air across them or thats what happens.

No saving them then? Let's say it would be a year before more were around. Is there something to try

I'll just have to go get some more and dry them properly then. Thanks! Will freezing prevent this?
