Greenhouse Invitro
    #25203939 - 05/14/18 06:08 PM (5 years, 10 months ago)

Hey guys. Hopefully someone can help me with this. I tried looking around on the forums for a while but I couldn't find an answer that helps me. I have a greenhouse set up already and I want to fruit some BRF cakes invitro inside of the greenhouse. What would be a good process for this? I'm not sure if should just take the lids off the jars and let them do their thing or if I should take them out of the jars to dunk them. If I do need to dunk them do I need to put a new casing layer when I put them back in the jars? I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

What's the point?
It's simpler to birth the cakes, dunk and roll them in vermiculite then introduce to fruiting conditions without leaving them in the jars. If you need something to lay them on while in the greenhouse you can use a sheet of aluminium foil.

birth, dunk, roll in verm, put in a sgfc. And then do grain spawn next time.

Maybe he has 200 cakes? Did you ever think of THAT!

No of course not.

OP definitely must be doing a massive grow of half pints. Possibly numbering in the thousands. Its the only explaination.

Yah you're definitely right about that. I was just kind of curious of how it would work out and I like to experiment and try different things but this experiment is a little pointless. Btw I really appreciate you genuinely answering my question unlike everyone else. Thanks!

:lolwut:
don't get so triggered people are just trying to help you grow some fucking mushrooms lol.
fucking wow.

Every post in this thread was good advice. and every single person who posted is a contributor willing to help you out for absolutely nothing. Just because it's a shroomy thing to help other people grow some shrooms. If any of that was cocky to you then maybe check out the site after smoking a fat bowl.

To put it simply cakes like close quarters to one another. Actually the closer you can get them to each other without the shrooms knocking cakes all over the place the better. A GH for cakes is kinda defeating that purpose unless you have a SHITLOAD of cakes. That’s why a sgfc was recommended.

To be more clear I’m not really referring to this thread. I was just reading some other threads and I’ve seen a lot of legitimate questions answered so negatively. I guess I was just venting. It was just an opinion I had but that’s where the old saying applies: opinions are like assholes, everyone’s got one haha

Do they like to be close to each other because the moisture evaporating off of the cakes creates a microclimate? I know a greenhouse isn't ideal for cakes but I'm just doing it that way to practice getting the temperature, humidity, and fresh air exchange all balanced correctly so I don't have any complications when my grain is ready. To top it off my greenhouse is so small it's almost a SGFC lol. Thanks for your response!

I believe you’re correct in stating it’s the preferred microclimate but I’ll leave the science behind it to a TC. I’m repeating what is a proven tek.

Yes cakes will perform better closer together within reason.
