Is that a wood chipper, Bry?

7hp chipper/shredder. I use it for my straw mostly but it'll take up to 3" branches. I usually stop when it starts to bog down. If it's big enough to bog it, it's big enough for firewood .

That is super cool, Bry.  Not only will those shred wood, and straw, you can also use them for some hands free shredding of horse, and cow manure.  One of those are on my want list, for sure.  Nice one.

Thank! I named it Bocephus.

I paid $425 for it off Amazon. Caught it with a coupon and it still qualified for 3 day prime shipping.

Got my of these too. 10'W x 20'L x 7'H. Going to use it for my oyster logs and some milky mushroom grows over the summer.

I got a cheap dremel on ebay for less than $20 and it came with 2 carbide sharpening bits.  The one is shaped like a cone and works like a dream for making holes in plastic.

If your going to make a shotgun fruiting chamber or holes in a mono, this is a quantum leap over drill bits and paddle bits(aka boring bits, butterfly bits or spade bits).

Doing it with a carbide bit does not crack the plastic, and makes no mess.  The excess plastic is shaved off but in one coherent piece and remains weakly attached to the tub and is very easy to tear off with your fingers.

I confess that I've only used this on one mini tub so far but was so impressed I wanted to let you guys know.

My dremel speed is adjustable and I had it on a fairly low setting, maybe 3-5000 rpms as a rough estimate.

I just got a 100 ml polypropylene Erlenmeyer flask from eBay real cheap and tested it out.  I put 100 ml of malt extract agar in it and microwaved it carefully to melt the agar and dissolve everything.  Then I covered the top with some foil and pressure cooked it for 20 minutes and left it cool down a bit.

I used it to fill 39 of my small polypropylene containers and it worked good.  The flared top kept it from dripping and the plastic wasn't as hot to hold as the glass bottles I had been using.  It isn't as nice as real glassware since it can't be heated on the hotplate but it works and fits nicely into my smallest pressure cooker.  To be fair, real glass Erlenmeyer flasks this size are not overly expensive online either but the PP one I got was only a little over a buck including shipping.  They come in larger sizes at slightly higher prices if you normally make larger batches of media.

The pp dishes are slick as hell straight out of the bag. Clarity is decent too. I haven't run them through the PC yet tho. I know they'll fog up a bit with some PC runs.

They come out of the PC just a tad less slick, which is great, because before the PC cycle they're so slick they can't even be stacked, they just slide off of each other. After the PC cycle you can stack em about as easily as PS plates. Here's a visual on them:

They are reusable but will eventually wear out.
