What's the best way to dry them? Is there a way to dry them that they don't shrivel up and turn black?

A food dehydrator.

This isn't the thread to get an ID. This is just to share information and pictures and just talk about Ovoids in general.

Great foraging today. Tons of pinning and little

should be great. Rain all week though. Here are
some more pics..

myceliups, Sweet finds!! :super::congrats: ... It looks like your washing them off?  Maybe this is why they'r turning black.  Have you ever considered using scissors to harvest?  It would keep them clean in the bag and save you the time it takes to process at home. Plus, there are a bunch of pins at the bottom of those clusters and with scissors the culture can put energy into them, giving you more mature fruits in just a day or two.  I know this topic is up for debate, but when dealing with fruits from logs there's rarely a chance to pull them free like that without messing them up.

The 3 pics in your gallery look like a mix collection, but not ovoids.

Yea been washing them. I guess it water logs them
and slows the dehydrating process to the point
where it's detrimental. I'm assuming the black ones
would be no good? No more washing! lol

Maybe give scissors a try.  It's a lil longer while gathering, but way cleaner and saves you time while sorting at home.

The black one's have been oxidized, so prolly a big loss of potency.

I wash mine. They turn a little black. It's cosmetic. Giardia sucks and drying doesn't kill them.

I see deer shit all the time.

9% of deer feces is infected with Cryptosporidia and 3% with Giardia.
