When religion, reason, and logic and put to the wayside and you feel out of sorts. Time to be in nature for weeks and get some sanity back from a overconditioned society. Not a "tennis shoe" hiker and camper.
Even though I am going to a place that is mostly free where I am from I love whoever is going around town putting NOPE stickers all over the place. No tresspassing, NOPE! Makes me laugh. You can make a prison of the whole world but there are still people that are open and free.
Freedom of expression. When it is done intelligently and with some truth and wisdom behind it I really enjoy it.

Large national forests are usually pretty nice and have relaxed laws.
Canada and Alaska too!

I hear you. Freedom is a state of mind. Once you realize you are a slave you then have a choice in the matter.
There are none so hopelessly enslaved then those that think they are free.
That's why I go hiking pretty much every day. There are still rules at the forest preserves by me. Must keep your dog on a leash. It's ridiculous I can't even play ball with my dog at the woods without fear of getting a ticket. My dog listens so well, She is on a verbal leash. She is my best friend. Do you keep your best friend on a leash? At national parks you can't even bring your dog on the trails.
