Hi everyone.

ID on these guys I found today. Pretty sure they're psylocybe semilanceata but thought I'd post to be completely sure.
The bottom picture is from a different location to the top picture.

Thanks.    http://

im talking about countries as a whole when i say "every part of the world" i guess i should have said (MOST PARTS OF THE WORLD) The way i see it is its one of the most widespread of the psilocybes and can be found in nearly every COUNTRY which is not untrue.

Saudi Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan, Jordan, Lebanon, Africa, just to name a few where they don't grow.

They tend to grow in cooler climates. That's why they are found only in the northern latitudes of the U.S., UK, Norway, places like that.

I think you are trying to say they can be found on most continents. In my opinion they would be right up there with psilocybe cubensis.

They apparently grow at high altitudes in the north of India, so perhaps Afghanistan isn't too improbable.

I'm not so sure, Afghanistan is more desert with fewer grasslands than Northern India with the exception of Gissaro-Alai, it is the only temporate grassland I know of in the country. The other grasslands are montane. With that said, it is possible that psilocybe semilanceata grows there but hasn't been found.

Identification help [Re: Froglob]
    #25245676 - 06/03/18 08:22 AM (2 years, 11 months ago)

Hi everyone,

This is my first post so please forgive me if I'm doing something wrong (posting in the wrong place etc.)

I'm in the UK and found these shrooms yesterday. They were in a grass field that is only inhabited by 100s of rabbits, no sheep/cows etc.
I am in the South East of the UK (Kent area).

I assume these are not magic, as its the wrong season and they don't look awfully like liberty caps, although they do have some similar features. I'm a total novice thats still trying to learn.
Identification would help so I can better distinguish these from Liberty Caps, unless by some stroke of luck these happened to be them.

Thanks guys!
