I'm saying the peaks of the myc looks slightly dry. It's very hard, and perhaps impossible to keep a surface like this properly hydrated because the peaks dry out while the valleys will get really wet. It's for this reason that every sub I make HAS to be even af. Just punch a bunch of holes into the bag and that should suffice. I've seen many people get great flushes doing just that.

I had the exact same conditions in my shoebox. I beleive it's stroma, but it didn't respond to more FAE. One cool thing about it was that it held humidity beads extremely well, I didn't have to mist it once. It also grew very fruitfully and well. You should eventually see pins growing right through it, I would even like to replicate it in my grows. I saved some spores from the variety of it, and wondering if it could have something to do with genetics also.
Anyway, don't fret, its not contam. Perhaps a little bacterial but nothing to worry about. Mine even started to change colors slightly, almost grey and yellow, but I beleive it was just weird bruising from the stroma. Mine never contamed out, and like I say, it really fruited well.
One strange thing I noticed about my shoebox like this, is that it was like a "one-flush wonder". All the mushrooms grew at pretty much the same pace, and once they were gone, they were gone.
I hope this helps you!

So do you reckon I should continue to mist twice daily or ease up on it? Also - how long did yours take to fruit exactly? As I say, this is the 6th day, these masses appearing I'd say 2 days in...

If I remember correctly, i'd say it took a couple weeks to begin pinning, maybe one and a half. If you have moisture beads on top of the "stroma" (i.e. if it's holding moisture and you can see it on the surface), I wouldn't mist it. However, I have only just begun in cultivation, with only four shoeboxes under my belt, these were my first two. So, If anyone more experienced can give a more solid answer, listen to them. This is just my own experience. Good luck, brother!

What was your dry yield, if you don't mind me asking? I'm hoping for 15g dry from this box in total

I had a spawn amount of 2.5 half pint BRF cakes crumbled to coir and verm in each of those shoeboxes, and they each yielded me 6-7 grams each. I would say your prediction is about right, but I would prepare for the worst by planning for 12 grams!

Hey guys! So it's been a few days. I have stabbed lots of holes (possibly too many) into the bag... Misting regularly. Even more blue bruising has appeared and STILL no pins. Its been 8 days now. Is it screwed?

You can also tape some holes up if it's drying up too much for you.
