Too high RH?
    #25193134 - 05/09/18 09:00 AM (6 years, 8 months ago)

My 1st 2 tubs were less than spectacular so I downsized to Bottle Tek to work out my imperfections on a smaller scale. In retrospect I should've skipped the perlite here so I'm repeating the conditions I would do in a mono. These were in loose lid bottles until I saw pins then cased with a thin layer of verm. The little pin on the bottom right bruised hard right away and most other shrooms bruised a little and had a chalky appearance. I'm misting lightly for glistening a few times a day and rotating the (unmodified) tub lid 45-90 degrees.

So my main questions are what causes the bruising? Relative humidity appeared kinda high so I didn't think it should be dry.

What's with the chalky looking shrooms? That I contributed to too high RH?

Thank for any input I'd like to work this out before I go mono again.
No need to question the green jar choice it's a novelty grow.

Hi there!
I would suggest you to try the shoeboxes:awesomenod:
The are more handy than a tub and you can practice how to get proper surface moisture..

I cant really understand from the picture but the chalky appearence could be for the stale air...maybe more FAE?

The bruising could be related to the dryness of the sub in the bottle or maybe the got damaged during the application of the verm? :pipesmoke:

See what other peeps think too :shroomeryhead:

Thanks for the response. That could be true in both cases but I was gentle with the verm.  I’ve kept the lid turned for FAE but they’re behind a curtain I’m ny basement and may not get a lot of airflow inside the tub. Not sure about the pale color and bluieish green bruising on the big ones though. They’re golden teachers btw.

They look dry, dont focus on humidity, focus on surface conditions

The chalky looking shrooms are making me nuts. I can’t figure out if I’m over misting or they’re drying out. They’re telling me something and I’m not hearing it.

The best way I could describe it is like the residue you get on jars out of the pc. Like minerals but I mist with purified water.

Proably hard water. Like calcium and all that.
