Sure... saran wrap could work just make sure the spores are 100% dry before folding it up. Getting the spore off might be more of a challenge than with other mediums.
By the way... paper or card stock works very well for spore prints. My first spore print ever was when I was visiting Costa Rica and I (went hunting and) found some big beautiful cubensis in a cow pasture. I picked a few large fruits and put them in my back pack. Back at the hotel, I decapitated them, put them on hotel stationary and and put a bowl over them. In the morning I had beautiful prints... and mailed them back to my home address that day so there they were when I got home. I had some great grows out of those wild spores.
Some would argue that white paper gives you a more attractive print than foil or glass.

I confess I want to go back to Costa Rica and collect some more.

Some close up micro myco porn. Still cultivating mycelium but got some primordia to be pins spotted today.
Captured with a 40X-1000X Dual-light metal frame glass optics digital student microscope with a USB camera. Took some images from my 90mm glass petri's or better put, tried to. Also a piece off my sub that I put on the cover of the petri. Dishes are pretty big to use the lenses over 4x. Gonna have to head down to the bio lab at the collage and see if I can buy some slides off em.
Thick middle part from this dish.
Light source from the bottom

Light source from the top. (same shot) First pic is a negative, second one color

Small piece of myc from the top of my sub, very poor quality because of the petri dish that it was on top of limited my ability to focus. Nothing special other than it looks like a dragon bird.
Light source from bottom

Light source from top.

True that didn’t think about the part where I have to scrape it off. That ain’t gonna work. Lol Can’t I wet it first then it would come off? Never done a print before( noobie noob here.)

And as to the plastic wrap, maybe? I live in the actual middle of no where and can get aluminium foil easier than plastic wrap. I recommend the aluminium foil, just do it. It will save you the regrets.
I could have went and got some foil but driving while tripping balls isn’t the best idea.. Just didn’t think that one out right.

I actually just spawned my 4-5 week consolidated jars to 2 tubs last night. Unfortunately(or fortunately) i won't be able to continue with them. When the head of a multi-million dollar commercial cannabis company says he's buying a loser like me a one-way ticket to las vegas and giving me a dream-job running a huge commercial grow facility, i'm inclined to jump.
But i'm gonna see if i can get a friend to finish these tubs for me. My ass will be in vegas in 2 days

Got primordia and pins yesterday. Day before a couple pvc caps fell on the sub but the myc is refilling in the damage. Wonder if the shock impact helped triggering. I'm thinking that only applies to shitake Some drying (faint yellow and tiny bit of blueing) on the left and right sides by the handle vents so flipped the lid back over right side up and covered a couple of the 1/4 holes. Light misting when no apparent dew drops on the sides. Holding the dew drops a little better this morning. Last few days the ambient room temp has fluctuated greatly from 65-85 along with ambient RH 20-%50. Looks like the weathers gonna be more stable over the week.

Oat spawn and coir/verm. Wondering if I should transfer them to 1 big tray or just let them fruit and see how they turn out since they are almost done colonizing.

I'm proud of this little tray going. Definitely making prints and cloning. This does the shoebox look ok? I thought it should at least have a few pins by now since it was spawned the same time the tray was. And that ugly shoebox is on its 3 Rd flush but I think it might be dead what do you guys think by just that pic? It has a lot of new pins and some old ones slowly growing at least I think it's growing lol
