a treatment for brown mold on a casing ?
    #2518860 - 04/02/04 02:18 PM (14 years, 27 days ago)

Hello there is this contam on some of a foaf casing that looks like "brown mold" according to the description in TMC : dull gray aerial mycelium and brown/cinnamon stains (spores ?) on the surface of the casing. anybody knows about this disease and how to treat it ?
I placed this morning this casing in a separate box/terrarium and cut the infected part and dropped peroxide on the spot and put some clean casing on top. Was this the thing to do or is there a better method ? Thanks for all help, the casing is a few days from a flush and my friend would be very sad to have to throw it now...

What you did is probably the best thing you can do...keep it seperate from anything else you might have going, and keep spraying it with peroxide. if it comes back, you could cut out the entire side/corner of the casing that is infected and spray the rest liberally with peroxide. the peroxide should prevent the germination of more spores, but spores are small and have lots of places to hide.
