Incubation Of P Cyan Agar

Hey guys, not sure if this is advanced cult or not, but i know you suckers will know this. Im going to be making some cyan agar plates soon, and am just wondernig what the best temp to incubate these plates would be? Similar to mycelial growth on grains? 75 deg right?
and on a broader base, is the agar incubation temp always the same as a jars?

well if it's Psil. Cyans, definitely NOT as warm as cubes! if this is what you're working with, I'd prolly do it at room temp at the highest. psil cyans are coldweather woodlovers, I would just put them in a drawer or something. Definitely not an incubator designed for cubies.
if Pan cyans, that changes things... they thrive in warmer temps.
so it depends...is it pan cyan or psil cyan, yarry?

Strange, I've seen Psil. cy being grown on agar and wood chips at cube incubation temps (beautifully). Anybody else have any insight?

I also use room temperature for all petri dishes. If you'll add a touch of gypsum to the agar, and expose to light from day one, p cyans will fruit(poorly) on the agar after about two months. This is how I determine the fruiting substrains. I then transfer a bit of myc from the petri dish with the invitro fruits to a new dish of antibiotic agar to grow out for transfer to rye.

Me too. One benefit is lack of condensation on the dishes and accompanying problems.

Me 3
Just keep all my petri dishes in a large container...at room temp.

RR: did you mean to say that the mycelium will develop poorly, or that there'll actually be fruiting on the (petri dish) agar?
Recently, I streaked some Pan spores on agar and, after 2 weeks, there was just some pretty weak (low and thin) mycelial growth (generally about the size of a dollar coin) in each dish, though no contamination.
I thought they'd failed, but I dumped the agar growth into rye jars anyway (a couple of days ago) to see what would happen.

err ... and?
Does the truth or usefulness of the information in this post have an expiry date?
I did a search and this thread came up. It's really relevant to what I'm doing right now, and I'd love a response. So should I just not ask because it's older than x years?
Maybe no one will reply (except to tell me how old the post is), but I really hope someone can answer my question, which is basically:
If I have minimal growth after 2 weeks, has that inoculation failed, or is RR saying that it could take up to 2 months?

I think he was saying that the mycelium will develop well and p.cyan will fruit on agar, albeit poorly.
I think your plates look fine for two weeks but it probably would have been a good idea to do some transfers first before moving it to grain. There's an active p.cyan thread over in Mushroom Cultivation where you will probably get more useful responses.
