High quality pictures of cobweb first stage
    #25178935 - 05/01/18 11:36 PM (3 years, 7 days ago)

I’m about 99% sure this is cobweb based on its occurance in this substrate before. I was hopeful earlier today that it may be mycelium, but that’s foolish of me. I know what the azurescens mycelium looks like and it’s much more dense than this. I’ve noticed that this comes back when I bring the container inside. Outside fresh air seems to stop/stall it’s growth

Definitely mold probably not "cobweb" then again any mold that looks cobweb like gets called cobweb just like anything green gets called trich

Very good point. It definitely smelled like mold the first time. It’s a little more stubborn this time but has not spread since I’ve had them outside. The mycelium is still thriving

Peroxide over the past four days has done nothing to it, the same spot of contam is still there. Maybe I’ll just light that spot on fire mwaahaha

If you have cobweb you fucked up so good that h2o2 isn't solving your issues.

I think you’re right in the idea that it isn’t cobweb due to its non-reaction to peroxide. It developed when the container was inside. It’s in a very wet patch of the woodchips so I’m assuming it was lack of FAE despite the amount of holes I have drilled in the container. It’s not spreading though which is a good sign to me, and the smell is very, very faint. It’s actually gotten much smaller. The azurescens mycelium, however, is ravaging the wood mix

Hello everyone!

The contamination has shrunk considerably but today I came home to these tiny, white “balls”....Am I immature for thinking that sentence is funny? I hope not

That is the same spot that I originally posted pictures of when I started this thread. The azure mycelium is THRIVING so I’m really not too worried about this spot. I would love to hear what my fellow shroomerians think about it though!

Came home to this today:

The white spots turned green in a matter of one day! It rained today so maybe there’s a correlation. I dug out the contaminated area and found that the green was extremely faint but went down to the mycelium. About an inch down, there was a very small amount of the “cobweb-like” contamination buried under the woodchips(my original post on this thread has pictures of it). That was the only remaining piece. Since I first posted, it reduced from about two cubic inches to about .15 cubic inches. The chips are about 60% colonized so I’ll update in a couple weeks!
