i'm moving soon- old house
    #2517152 - 04/02/04 03:03 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

my parents (whom, yes i live with, moved back with them after being far away for a few years) are moving to an old house thats from 1810. It used to be a school house and already feeling it out its full of restlessness. Its going to be a regular circus, i can tell already. Ahh, madness! Anyone else live in old ass fucking houses full of "things?" I'm slightly worried i won't be able to sleep well because of it even though i won't be living with them too much longer hopefully

It isn't more complicated than that.
It is opening to or recieving the present moment, pleasant or unpleasant, just as it is,
without either clinging to it or rejecting it.

My parents house is from 1729. The house was modified 15 years ago and most of the wood was removed but i still can remember hearing strange sounds at night back then . Anyway, you can put some music, that way you won't ear any strange sound .
Btw, turning the TV on doesn't help if you see something weird  ....

I had a good friend in college that lived (grew up) in a farm house that was a modified church from the mid 1800's. It caught on fire one day and burned to the ground before anybody could do anything about it. Old dry wood burns very hot and very fast. Old houses are very cool, but be careful... they often have older wiring and cannot always handle modern day power loads.

I live in an old house next to a Civil War era cemetary.
I pretty regularly keep a portable heater running on fan at night.

This past summer I moved out of my office that was located in a building from 1850. It was a cool old building. It still had a bathtub on legs in the bathroom. The floors will real wood. I miss that old place. I never thought I'd say that.

Old buildings carry alot of 'emotional baggage'... not to mention people  ,..... anyways,...There are things you can do to cleanse the place of negative feelings or vibes of discord. I am not sure how much you are into  things like that, and I am no expert, but I think maybe a candle ceremony, or other mental meditation bent on cleansing the place of past energies can help expel negative 'beings'... but if that fails , WHO YA GONNA CALL

ha ha ah yeah old houses are swell. Dont be afraid to tell those spirits whats up. My town was built around the mid 1700's. In some of the older houses you can just tell something is up. Not to mention my x girlfriends house. Had a slave quarters down in the basment. You can feel this cold energy from it yuck.
My parents back before I was born moved into a house with there friends. And when ever they where in the house together they hated each other so much, all four of them . But when they would leave they would feel fine and be back in love.(another one of those crazy things)

Going down just a few feet into the earth, the temperature drops noticeably which is why basements were built.

Either way, there is no such thing as "cold energy".

"Cold" is a term to indicate lack of heat. However, even the coldest raindrops still contain a lot heat.

Heat is actually the movement of particles within a system. The faster the particles move, the more heat there is.

no, cold is a term to describe think like :lifeless, perhaps actually chilly, negative, and un-hot items. Co ld energy is perhaps a coldness you feel down your spine, rather then your skin.

What is the ingredient in sage that repels ghosts? Perhaps we could market it in a aerosol can: S&J's "Ghost-B-Gone"...

It is not the chemical properties of the sage that 'repel ghosts', it is the mental thought you put behind the act that cleanses past vibes.. With the added music you can maintain the right mindset to perform the 'ritual' and cleanse the area. I know it is hard for you Swami, but there really is an aspect of the brain science can not proove, and even if it is nothing supernatural, the potential for posative change is great.
