Types of bags that can be PC'd?
    #25167968 - 04/26/18 09:45 PM (6 years, 8 months ago)

Hey all. Hope all is well.
So, I know when it comes to plastic, I can PC pp5 containers. I am thinking of switching from jars to bags as I like the idea of doing one bag per one shoe-box.  I also have a hard time getting my jars to shake after full colonization. Ill just use jars as grain masters.

So what determines whether or not a bag can go in a PC?

Obviously the material, right? Would have to be Polypropylene yeah? And I'd assume the mil of the bag would determine the strength?  If so, what is the minimum mil needed to withstand 15psi?

Like these;

Any info or links would be cool. Thanks!

Any bag labeled 'mushroom spawing bags' will be made with the proper material for being PCed.  They are made of Polypropylene, so you are correct about that.  Spawn bags generally come in between 1.5-2.5 ml.  I use 2 mil.

Hey Ham, Thx for the input. Maybe my question lacked the part where 'myco bags' are pretty expensive for me and I am shopping for a cheaper alternative. Aside from a filter and an injection port, aren't they just bags? I am trying to finde out what that bag is.
Thanks again!
