So im a fairly new grower and i thought well still pretty sure i have a contaminated jar so i separated it and well i didn't plan on pcing it right away so i pourd bleach through the holes in the top of the jar filling the jars with quite alot of bleach and i left it alone for about 2 weeks and well... Lol i dunno just wondering someones though on this i dont want to harvest these mushrooms or anything.

Is that blue or green? Id pop the top and let em grow more and harvest em. Life will find a way...

Yeah ambiguous colour but I'd say it's green contam, looks like a mycelium front growing, stopped by that layer of contam and another separate section of mycelium growing on top, so no bruising.
Man if you bleached that thing ant its fruiting 2 weeks later it a hell of a fighter I would try and clone just for laughs but i guess the general consensus will be that you toss so you don't ruin your grow area.

The fruiting is just a desperate attempt to keep on going somewhere else so it's also not a very good sign when things fruit in jars
Myc itself looking pretty solid tho

Probably should just pick off the fruits, dehydrate, and toss the jar contents. Doesn't look good and even if I could get more fruits, I dont like to spread spores of a contam through my house.

I have every intention of just tossing the tbing but the fact that it took bleach and died and maybe in the pic it looks a lil green but tbh its more blue but i still don't want to mess with it. But thought of bleaching it and it still grew is crazy to me figured I'd share.

Ya bleach isn't as harmful to mycelium as other things, it ends up breaking Down and mycelium will eat it, that's why they pasteurize straw with it. I've had a few jars do this, personally what I do is break the jar rinse it off take off any contam and put it in a large gallon Ziploc with some of the zipper open an let it get as much air as possible. I've had bacterial jars actually produce pretty well that I had given up on

Myc can fruit and survive in a cupboard for 30+ days with no light, water, food or love. Myc can survive as a grain jar for easily 5 years in a fridge. Myc can survive a pretty impressive amount of fire and it can survive the garbage can tek. Shit is fuckin hardy af and I wish we were as hardy lol. I would not recommend doing any of these things (except maybe storage if it's an exceptional strain/clone), just like how I'll never recommend a bleach dunk.
I've seen many bacterial things produce without any form of treatment (unless extra fae can be counted as a treatment)

Nah lol never planned on it. With me being a noobie i thought that was pretty neat i repeat i never ever had any intention to try and harvest these lol i left the jar sitting on a ledge in my basement and happend to walk by and notice it i was pretty shocked to see the bleach that i filled the jar with actually did something.

would it still be viable to spawn after 5 years?
what is the acceptable range for spawning a jar?

If it's been 5 years I would drop a grain onto agar over spawning it. I'm not sure how well it would do if you tried spawning it. I doubt that great.
