Light is beneficial at all stages of growth.
Do you have to give it to them? No. But it seems that mushrooms have a sort of circadian rhythm. The light cycle helps them somehow. It's not well understood yet.

UPDATE;
It’s been a few days now since I posted this and want to give an update. 1 jar appears fully colonized, the other 3 are 90% colonized. About when is best to throw them in the fruiting chamber?

Hello guys! So tomorrow is the day I plan on putting everything in a fruiting chamber! But one problem.. I think I may have ran into contamination? Can someone please let me know? It’s only 1 jar that has it.

That doesn't look too scary. It's probably just metabolites, the piss given off by the myc.
Give the cakes a solid week of consolidation after they are 100%. Then when you birth them, give them a good sniff. If somethings wrong, it won't smell earthy and good like the others.
I think it's fine.

Seeing signs of mushroom growth ! Got 1 cake on tin foil and the other 3 soaking for 24 hours. I’m going to break those up and throw them in a small container I have. Will have more pics but here’s this

5 days later in the fc, no bad smells, sprayed around the tub & on the perlite 1-2 times a day depending on the condensation, I fan 1-2 times a day as well. Generally before i go to bed & when I wake up type of schedule. Elevated off the ground, and yes I decided sgfc because it’s cheapest for my budget. I know some people told me not to but it’s trial and error. And also I’m growing for personal. Here’s an updated pic of them below. 1 cake doesn’t have verm on it because it wasn’t actually dunked at all due to a mushroom forming and my thoughts were to just take it out and put in the fc. that’s my mistake if that is an issue. Lemme know if I need improvements (and not trying to tell me I need to do a different fc)

Mist cakes directly, mushrooms dont grow on the tub or perlite. Fanning is pointless, your chamber has holes all over. How close is the sgfc to the wall? Want to make sure you have room for airflow 360 degrees around it. Cut the foil down to allow better air around cakes dont need it but the size of cakes

Everything he said, and Trim the foil close to the cakes & bring them all close together.
Nothing wrong with a sgfc as long as you built it right.

I shoved even closer and tighter foil than it looks in that picture. I do like this. The tighter it is the better the micro climate.
That set-up looks nice ama.

I agree with creating the microclimate ltlurker. I keep mine a little farther apsrt so fruits have room to grow, but no wrong with either. And thank you, i try to stay clean and organized

Okay, so I took advice from you great people and did a few fixes. I cut the tin foil down, spaced out the cakes more, misted the cakes directly and made sure no water stayed sitting, pulled it a little further away from the wall (its the only space I have so it kinda has to be near a wall)
I got signs on 3 out of 4 of the cakes growing pins

2 days later and these pins are really starting to show! However 1 cake has no signs of pins.. and it happens to be the one I mistakenly didn’t dunk and roll in verm. Should it be tossed or let it ride out and see if anything will happen?

Nice pins. As long as that cake isn't showing signs of being contaminated, leave it. They don't all grow at the same speed, some will just be slower than others.

Just a quick question if anyone can answer, I have my tub next to a wall but not too close where there is at least a good amount of air exchange to the side closes to the wall. Does me rotating the tub everyday really make a difference? Or am I wasting time rotating the tub ?
