Pseudo cased at spawn and a week consolidation at least. Hopefully they will fill in
Idk man.. the APE in my sig wasn’t cased. I had more tubs that were uncased with no blobs irst flush too. FAE must definitely play a part but I’ve seen other people say the same about not needing to be cased.
Perhaps they are really picky about how wet the sub is. Perhaps they cant take as much saturation of the sub as other cubes can. I have seen wet subs and bacteria subs do strange things to normal cubes, and NOT ALL bacteria is easily visible on agar.

I've got PE going right now with APE in the line-up.Here are a couple tubs I have going. This is with a light casing(less than 1/4')of coir/verm in a shoebox.

And another tub with about 1/2" of same coir/verm casing.

I'm seeing a little bit of pins, but also some blobs. First time working with any PE so.. Looks like I should get something at least. BRF cakes spawned to coir/verm BTW.

Sounds like you're looking for a genie in a bottle? White buffalo? I'd suggest trying something out instead of wondering and wishing for the easiest and best 'Guarantee' that doesn't actually exist for everyone. Why not try the tek out first and then see if it works for the culture that you're using? Then maybe play with some variables a bit. To just hypothesize that extending consolidation in the jar is the golden ticket is exactly that until you've proven it. Just make a decision and roll with it. I need

Yeah, call it a genie or anything else if you want. If it works consistently, it works consistently. I plan to find out for mysrlf. I've got some jars consolidating as we speak.

I’ll be trying 2 weeks then 3 weeks all in a jar. First with multispore and then again with clones. Maybe we can make a thread about it A.I.M.
