Is this clean?
    #25160250 - 04/23/18 03:53 PM (6 years, 8 months ago)

Greetings friends
I have been learning the agar techniques for a short while now. I've been observing my plates and made a few transfers. I have only seen some bacteria here and there, blobby and patchy, very obvious. I'm yet to identify any molds or other contaminants on the agar, so I'm throwing up this picture to hopefully confirm that it's clean. This an inner tissue sample from a live fruit, 0 transfers. It looks nice to me, pretty uniform and no suspicious spots. The chunks missing are where I took some transfers from today. Any opinions, advice, or examples of clean/contaminated plates are welcomed and appreciated. Thank you friends
p.s. sorry for the blur; tried keeping the plate as clean as possible.

Try to take your transfers before it hits the edges, about 1/2-2/3 to the glass. Once it hits the glass it gives contamination a chance to catch up to the clean leading edge.

yo that's a really great tip thanks dude. I got busy and let em grow out too much. I'll be able to spot it easy on the new plates thankfully
