678 grams wet to. . . 34 dry? WTF?

Harvested a heaping bowlful that weighed in at an impressive 678 grams wet. They grew very fast, not a first flush. Dried them for 18 hours and down to a pathetic 34 grams. Is this normal?

95% water is a little more than average, but it's close. Average is around 93%.

Seems a bit light but I guess that happens, at 93% water they should've come out around 47g, if there was additional water weight it would come out in the drying process.

I notice the dry weight is usually less if the stipes were hollow

Thanks all.
At first I was wondering if I had ghosts that were stealing and tripping, LOL.

There's an interesting concept of that, called the Potato Paradox. Suppose you had a potato that weighed 100 grams and was 99% water and 1% solid. If you let it sit out overnight until it was 98% water, how much would it weigh?
50 grams. I kid you not.
Normally I get about 8% yield after drying. Which would be 54 grams from 678. So 34 is a measly 63% of expected yield.

You didn't like take some caps for prints and forget to add those into the weight did you? I ask as I was freaking about a shit yield once, then remembered I had to dry the caps that I had printed.

I did all the necessary calculations and conclude that on the first weighing you included the bowl weight.

Nope. Good idea though. Several grams of spores. Wow.
EDIT: Whoops, my bad. You meant, left the caps printing whilest drying the rest and saying "Dude, where'd my harvest go?" Sorry, misread and thought you meant spores left behind weighed grams, LOL.

I'm pretty sure that I have ghosts who raided my dehydrator last night and are tripping as I write this.
