Ready to spawn?
    #25159782 - 04/23/18 11:52 AM (6 years, 8 months ago)

Are these jars ready to spawn? The condensation is getting out of hand, the jars looked pretty dry up until the last week or so. These are currently at 19 days post inoculation. I shook at 30%, 7 days ago.first timer, thanks for any help!

Looking good.
Wait any longer and they'll start pinning in vitro.

While they don't look perfect I 2ould probably spawn em each to their own shoeboxes at a 1:2 ratio. I use straight coir, and would mix the spawn eith 3/4 of the coir and then lay a top layer of just coir on top. Many of my jars, if not all, looked a bit meh like this, and I've been successful. Were these MS or agar?

They were from a MS syringe. I have 5 more jars that are a little slower  behind these, I’ll provably spawn them a couple of days later.

:whathesaid: you could probably get some fruit from it, but they don't look too good overall

Bummer. Thanks for the advice, what signs of bacteria do you notice? Not doubting you, just trying to learn.

Aerial mycelium + wetspot bacteria.

You want soft, even growth covering all grain surfaces. The uneven, frosting-like growth, the wet-looking uncolonized grains up against the glass, and the the mycelium spikes are all dead giveaways. I didn't even need to expand the photo to see that they're infected

That's a really informative picture JHOVA; so myc that looks like it's shooting out trying to get away from the grain is aerial, and a sign of contamination?

And I thought they were only a little too moist and past the spawning time...

Post up your agar plates and then we can help you get clean plates then a clean jar and then its easy street cuz you can expand it from 1 > 10 > 100 real quick.
