I've even used the microwave to do enough for one tub. Pasteurization is super simple.

This probably doesn't warrant its own thread, but does anyone do multiple transfers in different sessions from the same petri dish? I found a stupid way to induce sectoring- when you do transfers, leave a little tiny thread of myc between the areas you transfer from. That tiny thread starts to grow out, and after it recovers and regrows, it should start to sector pretty obviously.

Just got done doing a sab session. I had a couple pins on agar from a bht clone so i transferred them both to agar they had both dumped spores already so i just transferred a piece of the stem that didn't have noticeable spores anyway only after i was done did i realize that 1 of the pins might be luecistic. What do you guys think? The pic is both of the pins

Sweeeet Myceliups, I transferred my first RB pin the other day, taking it to as many plates as I can in a little less then an hour. I'm about to pour up plates now to transfer the new growth from the RB pin & some for a few m.s. Pan Jam.'s. I got 6 apes on wbs with more soaking now to do 6 more A2G transfers tomorrow, happy to be busy

I'm on day 13 with nothing, as per usual. I'm gonna try grain soak agar and some brf pucks next week. Maybe I'll get lucky. Feels like getting mycelium is the hard part.

Thats a bummer but not to bad, whats your Agar recipe? I've had some spores take around 10 days to germ, I always make the germ. plates less stiff/ wetter to help encourage them to get a move on

If you case a tub with straight vermiculite are you supposed to hydrate it first or just sprinkle it on dry and then mist it?

Since I can't seem to get any fungus to germinate, check out what I have managed to grow so far.
I think penicillium and bacteria (not a penicillin producing species obviously.
Maybe a cobweb mold. Fuckin fools mycelium. It had me going for a day or two.
I've got another dish with what looks like the same mold trying to grow up the glass in the jar. It kinda branches a bit on the glass like how mycelium would grow, but that's probably just because it's having a hard time with nutrients what with it trying to grow on a solid glass surface and all.
Any requests for other contams you'd like me to grow? I'm on a hot streak and I've got some free time what with not needing to deal with any pesky mushroom cultures.

Take a video above your sab when you do transfers. 100% guarantee there are some glaring flaws in your technique.

I'm sure I can do better but I get a lot more duds after 3 weeks of waiting than I do contaminated plates. That one with the penicillium is uncharacteristically bad.
My biggest problem is that even the contaminated plates have never had any mycelium mixed in. Not once in probably 40 plates and a handful of jars. Here soon I'm gonna do another 20 plates (4 from 5 different syringes) on a soft grain soak agar with MS drops on an inoculation loop, and also 1cc in 6 different grain jars from 6 different syringe varieties. If there's still no mycelium, then I don't know. Running out of patience for sure.
I can see why legit grows mostly don't even fuck with spores. I can't stand working with them. Those people who try to take 20 year old prints and germinate them are broken masochists.

You need to look up josex βno mercy for bacteriaβ and post a video of your sab work. Follow both steps and you wont be a mold farmer
