Only if hydrated properly. High psi/longer temps can dry out the hulls of underhydrated grains. Leading to shitty colonzation.

I PC jars and bags full of oats at 13psi for 90 to 120 minutes and have no issues with contamination. I would like a PC that can go all the way to 20psi for the fun of it.

His PC was modified to go to 20 psi by putting more weight on the pressure weight. He probably siliconed on a few quarters or something.

What's your failure rate, that's not enough psi or exposure time for grains. I run mine @19psi for 2hrs and still have a jar fail here and there

I've never had a pressure cooker dry out grains nor has it made grains wetter
Ive accidentally sterilized oats overnight 8+ hours. They were darker and caramelized but still hydrated the same. Not too wet or dry. They didn't work for shit tho
Ive also put the cooker up to 20-22 for a whole run they come out just the same.
The presto does 20 psi just fine

I second that. I do 2:30 @ 18-20 psi and I still have a control oat jar which was sterilized 2 months ago with a thick felt filter and the grains show no signs of contamination nor do they ever get dry during the cycle

I got my PC recently to start growing shrooms in bulk once more, this time using oats instead of corn, so far I did two medium bags full of grain at 13psi for two hours. I already had my first flush. I now have 6 jars (13psi x 90min) colonizing with tissue samples taken from a good shroom from that first flush.
