Relative humidity and fresh air exchange
    #25154196 - 04/20/18 08:48 PM (6 years, 8 months ago)

I was previously doing a set up in a large walk in closet with stacks of shotgun fruiting chambers but now have the space to step things up to a greenhouse with racks of trays. Fresh air exchange will be easy to maintain and Everything else like temp and Rh will be automated. I need help figuring out exactly how to keep everything. So from what I understand Rh needs to be at or close to 100% to induce pinning and then once the pins are Formed it could go down to 90-95% humidity till they finish. So all of my trays will be cased which should help with about 5% extra humidity. So for pinning should I keep the Rh around 95% then once everything’s formed kick it down to 90ish %?
And is it the fresh air exchange or the difference in humidity between the casing layer and environment that causes evaporation off the casing layer?
If everything is automated how often should i really have to mist the trays and fruit bodies?
Should I still have a set up that uses perlite and closed lids or is it possible to have no lids on the trays and the humidity in the whole room does he rest?

High humidity serves to convenience the cultivator. You need near 100% RH at the substrate surface only which we can achieve by misting. If you don't like misting every 30 minutes you'll want high RH in your greenhouse. FAE accelerates evaporation provided your humidity is below saturation.
