Concerned about slow colonization and excess moisture
    #25151647 - 04/19/18 07:22 PM (6 years, 8 months ago)

Hey everyone,

This tub has been colonizing for almost three weeks now and I’m concerned that there is a problem. The myc that is there seems normal, but there is still a pretty large patch of uncolonized substrate. Today I noticed a small pool of yellow liquid towards the back that looks a lot like myc piss. Overall, it seems pretty moist in the tub and I’m wondering if it’s too wet. All the tub holes are taped up and have been this entire period. My last tub took pretty long to colonize (I’m in a colder area) but I’ve got a strange feeling about this one. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

What does your substrate consist of?

It was pasteurized sub I purchased. I’ve used it before and had success. It’s an assortment of compost, fertilizer, and other crap. Lol.

It’s a no no to mention sponsors in your posts. Just letting you know.
You want to avoid pooling. You could take a paper towel and soak it up.
