Fist cubensis grow attempt and possible mold contamination

This is my first attempt at growing Cubensis. I am using the PF Tek and they are currently jared in Vermiculite and Brown Rice Flower. They have been jarred for 10 days and a blue/green substance can be seen growing next to the mycelium. It visible in 3 of the 10 jars I am using. The picture below is the worst example. Is this normal or are my jars contaminated?

It is normal to have your jars horribly contaminated likes these on your first few tries. Sorry to deliver the bad news, those are lost.
Provide some info on your tek and your syringe. How do you prepare your PF Jars? Autoclave? Steam Sterilise? Do you use a verm barrier? Special lids? Do you use spore syringes? Are they from a good vendor?

Unfortunately that is mold. Sucks that it happened your first time.
Any ideas where you might have screwed up? Sometimes it's bad luck, sometimes bad technique.

i used a spore syringe and heated it with a lighter between injections. All materials were clean with 91% ISO and everything was steamed and cooled 24 hours prior to inoculation. I used standard lids with small holes drilled in them just big enough for the syringe. I did use a dry verm layer.

Still air box?
Some people say they get by without it but I wouldn't want to do any work without one.
If not I think k I saw an open air Tek with using like a sponge soaked in isopropyl alcohol or something and using it as a filter when you insert the needle but idk, anyone verify if that Tek works ?

No, I didn't use a still air box, I will construct one for my next attempt. I had a lot of trouble injecting the spores. The substrate mixture kept clogging the syringe. Anyone else had this happen? I would imagine this is when i contaminated my mix. I kept having to pull the syringe in and out trying to unclog it between injections.

press the syringe opening up against the glass as you slide it down. then push the plunger.
It might be hard to tell, but I go in at a slight angle.

Yeah syringe into pf jars is a pain in the ass.
Still air box should definitely help. Wipe inside with soapy water and wipe everything that enters with isopropyl alcohol. I then spray Lysol in as I close the lid I wiped with isopropyl alcohol. Or flip tub onto a towel like some do.

ok, I will get another syringe on the way. Is there any use with the contaminated jars? Maybe break them up in a giant manure pile on the farm?

I personally have good luck without useing a SAB. OP, did you make your syringe or purchase it?
you could always try an outdoor patch with contaminated cakes if you want.

Perhaps try a different vendor next time if you can.
