Sup

:teabird:

This keyboard is jacked up, bought it like 2 weeks ago and its already having a number of issues. Im probably just going to leave it here and buy a new one when I leave town, considering that its falling apart so quickly and Im just using it indoors, shit wont last on the road. Going to look around for the warranty.

Wrote a new harmonic progression to go with one of these pieces, its pretty sweet.

Hello. I quit my job today. I won't miss it.

There was a pretty crazy hail storm this morning. It doesn't snow here so it was surprising to see it building up on the sides of the roads. I hope all the plants I just put in the ground can survive hail.

Thanks. I can get a job here anytime I want thankfully. I literally found my first job within 5 minutes of looking and the last one took maybe a couple hours. I'm making a website now and I'll probably have my business going in a couple weeks.

Yeah, it is late for hail. I was thinking about going out to the sierra mountains for camping soon, but I might have to wait a little longer now.

Man, wrote another progression which came out great. Its interesting how much work it takes to compose, at least for me as I have to flush ideas out on piano and can only do a certain amount of perspective work in my head (without reference to a physical instrument).

In practice, my method of working on a progression typically means improvising through chord sequences and keeping a mental log of different possible directions the sequence can go based on variants in the progression and individual chord qualities.

Add a capo here, extend this chord or shorten that one, flatten the third for this measure, any little alteration changes the big picture and forces you to re-examine other sections (maybe using a flat third here makes the augmented 4th sound inappropriate in the next measure, which can further change the balance of other sections and the entire picture)

Its impractical to keep track of every option you're considering on paper, so you have to hold a dozen ideas in your head of how the overall progression might look, and variants of each based on the little details.

Thankfully music is organized over neat mathematical systems, so everything can be organized and navigated logically

Do you think the advancement of conscious-interface technology will kill the idea of a creative genius? I think about sometimes, those tunes in my head that never got to be, and how some day I could have a personal AI that will throw it together those thoughts using studio software. It would essentially make the idea of a classical composer feverishly scrawling out notation by candlelight somewhat akin to rubbing two sticks together to make fire. Do you think at that point the musical geniuses of history will still hold up, or will it just show the only limitation was skill (both physical and biological) and ambition? I’m sure music will always be fun & fulfilling either way.

I'd say no it wont kill the idea of a creative genius. People dont care how able a computer is, they wanna see the organic form create. for classical, people will always pay more to see the human creation over a computer doing the same thing

Imo different methods just produce different results, relating to different states of consciousness.

Classical composers like Mozart have unrivaled skill and talent, but they relate to no more states of consciousness than a rock band who only understand the ABCs of music. I do think relying on technology will limit one's potential in both personal understanding and creative output, already seen a lot of that from amature gear heads.

If I could workup to the kind of superhuman understanding Mozart has, it would certainly make music more enjoyable for myself and my audience, but no more relatable emotionally.

Personally I prefer a middle ground, understanding and manipulating relatively complex theories to establish the format or ambiance of a piece (because the extra details allow me to be increasingly specific when setting the stage), but leaving the actual performance aspects relatively easy to perform and understand

On another note I do think a number of musical geniuses will be known for millenia, Mozart is a perfect example because his genius as a technician is unrelatable, inhuman and beyond anyone else's reach. The same goes for Bach, Beethoven and a few others, when you study their work and lives in detail, its simply incomprehensible that they were real people.

They're also historical artifacts.

I accidently bumped into a curb but it didn't do anything.  It feels traumatic yes, but the apartment feels like people watching me and I cant relax or sleep and as of now I still feel locked into this.

Ive been there with the apartment situation, it sucks having no privacy.
At this point I prefer sleeping out in the woods.

As far as the driving   drive safely and suck it up

Today was my first day working at a Elementary school

Few kids we're vomiting everywhere during lunch

But the head janitor was impressed with how I addressed and treated the children and took charge of the lunch room
After all the kids left for the day

Was laid back cleaning work

I really love my job
Ironic a high school dropout loves working at school

I feel like a mentor for the kids too
They all seemed to like me

I'm like there cool Mr. Sunny

Loving life lately :sunny:
Home now

About to shower and lay back eat some food and smoke the last little bit of weed I have

Love y'all

I just finished re-filling my gas can, now I'm sitting under a bridge smoking a cigarette on the way back to my house

Gonna destroy a bunch of spaghetti when I get home then I'm gonna do another dab
