BRF cakes pinning at base

Hi,
My first ever cakes have started to pin. I hunted some mushrooms took prints etc. so Im pretty excited to have got this far on my first go.
All the pins are concentrated around the base and I was wondering if this is good/bad/doesn't matter? I read a forum post with someone suggesting to flip thee cake if this was happening but I'm not sure why.
Any info much appreciated.

Thanks, I don't think it is (but I could be wrong).
Have been misting/fanning 3-5 times/day. Perlite is nice and wet. Took 12 days to see pins in sgfc after dunk and roll.

Just the standard sgfc, holes all 6 sides, layer of perlite. Just using ambient light source.

Wait....Do you need a light source for brf cakes? Because I watched a tutorial video that didn't mention that at all. And I am in the process of getting everything I need to start my first grow as well.

Thanks for the feedback. This being my first grow I am trying to follow the general consensus of what good misting is. In my case I have been doing 3-5 times a day directly on the cake. Also giving the perlite a good misting.
The only thing I can think of why it may be dry is the vermiculite casing layer isn't as dense as others I've seen? Any thoughts on this?
I only have one cake as the first spore print I took and syringe I made were pretty weak and I only got 1 of 6 to colonize. I've got a bunch more jars on the go now which are doing much better.

The verm layer should be fine
Just listen to your cake, if it's dry, mist, if it's wet, don't mist. Read those threads well, they're full of all the answers.
