Spores from contaminated cakes need some help

Hello All, first post here, all help would be much appreciated. It's hard to obtain spores where I live, I got some by chance and started my first grow. the jars are very contaminated (I think the cake was way to damp) but there are dots of white mycelium showing. I want to try and fruit the jars just for the sake of getting spores for a new try. I read in the forum contrasting opinions about spores from contaminated cakes. if the cakes do fruit are there any measures I can take in order to obtain viable, clean spores?
Thanks

If you do manage to get it to fruit, take a print and be prepared for what will most likely be some frustrating agar work in order to get a clean culture.

Off subject but omg. that mushroom woman image holy cow MrSturgill
In answer to the post: Agar work (frustrating and tedious ) can solve most of these issues

If going to agar why not just do a drop of Ms to agar instead of dealing with the cake..?

Since I have no idea what "Agar Work" is I assume "Hard agar work" is something beyond my skills

Agar is a jelly like material that mushroom mycelium will grow on (and a host of other molds and bacteria)
when you have agar dishes you can hopefully see which is bacteria and which is mushroom mycelium or other molds.
The after a few days (sometimes spores can take longer to germinate) you can cut a tiny piece of it away from other nasties and transfer the clean bit to a new dish. do this 2, 3, 4 times and you usually will have a clean culture.
This you can now transfer to grains etc.
It seems overwhelming at first but you get the hang of it quickly and it doesn't cost much at all and you are WAY more likely not to get contaminated spawn.
But if you're doing your first PF cake or something you might just want to get a good spore syringe just to grow something the first time.
Good luck

Agar isn't that bad, if you have access to more spores I would just start over if I were you. If you're willing to do some reading you can find everything you will ever need to know in the link above my signature.
