First time, first trays, first pins: bruising or contamination???PICS
    #25135659 - 04/13/18 12:22 PM (6 years, 9 months ago)

Hey guys first time here. Today I noticed my first pins also maybe a contamination or bruising. It’s looks like a dark blue color I know that mycelium can bruise blue when touched or bumped but I’ve never touched them. So in your opinions is this just bruising or contamination ? Thank you

Looks really dry, but I am 90% sure that's just the myc bruising, possibly from being bone dry

Give a generous misting until you see some nice beads of water on the exposed myc, and the brown substrate darken a tone or two

Try to get the top layer looking like the grass does in an early morning with dew on the grass. Not sopping wet, but just enough to let the mycelium know it has plenty to drink.

Example:

Thank you. I’m honestly surprised I’ve made it this far with no problems at all.

If you're misting a lot, try to cut down on the FAE in small increments in order to retain moisture in your substrate, but not eliminate the fresh air that needs to be exchanged.

Will do. Hopefully I’ll be able to harvest something by 7 days. Heading out to the woods to camp
