I've had to wind everything down because I'm moving. All my cultures are in the fridge and this is all I have going right now. Half of 'em growing up, the other half racing to the bottom of the jar

I'm in an old house. You can feel the air blowing in through the windows. It's the only way I could dial it in.

If it's solution, you can sterilize the needle of your syringe, then push out just half a drop (keep it hanging from the needle), then touch the plate with it and close back up. You can let the half drop run around the plate a bit if you want, but it's not necessary.
It's funny you say that, last night I tried so hard to just get 1 drop to hang on the edge but I can't, I put a little pressure, then a little more, and a little , still the plunger hasn't moved, at this point I don't know how I need two hands to push on a sirynge but ok. I keep adding more and more and more pressure ever so slowly so I can get that 1 drop. Then finally it breaks loose and squirts 5cc of solution all over the plate and SAB. I fucking hate dealing with sirynges, every time it's like that, even when I back a air bubble in the before plunging the plunger, it still sticks. Spore prints are the best.

Try shaking it like a madman. I've had clumps of spores clogging the needle and that helps a bit. Also, storing them point up helps.

I looked into those, I'm going to get more little 1/2 pints but the wide mouth 125ml is nice because it give a lot of room to fan out. I'm going to use the 1/2s for clones, starts, cleaning contams. No need for a big jar unless gunna do some isolation right? Also the Wal-Mart nearest to me doesn't have Petri dishes, I found agar, I'm happy with that. I'm not pushing my luck with the universe, I can work with short glass jars.
Also please call me Rasputin, rarara is ok but it sound wierd when I read it.

The less myco shit i have to trash the better it is for me. I found a way to do less agar work with a couple 60 ml syringes of LI IN LC broth then g2g for a few generations. No more agar work for a while so ghetto petris will do just fine.

don't do this. You WILL contaminate it. It's spore cloggage, that's why they say to shake and drop some on your sab before inoculation

This is my second grow. Z "strain" (variety), agar-grain-hpoo. Ya gotta follow the teks... and learn to listen to what they are asking for, like growing anything. A lot to learn, but this is coming along good so far.

And a sprout in a project just put to hpoo-verm substrate a few days ago. Life will find a way, through pc's, pasteurization and life in general.
