Are these bad boys edible or for the bin
    #25133249 - 04/12/18 01:22 PM (6 years, 9 months ago)

Hi to all
First post and grow.
First flush air dried and put in sealed container with desiccant,a week later put 2nd flush in with the nearly dried flush (not touching). If this is mould, this is where I might have f**kd up!

Advice appreciated.

Thanks impatientguy for quick reply.

Damn! Suppose it's all a learning curve.
Anyone know what type of mould it is?

Kinda looks like trich, but I could be wrong.  Its easier to tell on the sub than the mushrooms lol.

Trichoderma is green once it sporulates, so it can't be that. Identifying mold is a part of my job, but identifying mold in general is very hard/impossible without a microscope.
Maybe a Rhizopus sp.?

There's very apparent green mold on the stems of those in the 4th and 5th pictures down. How can you not see that? Definitely DON'T eat those.

P.S. - Picking them up and smelling them should confirm mold, but it's pretty easy to visually see.

You can get food poisoning and get really sick, and ingesting the spores can impact your bronchial system--especially if you have asthma, which can cause major problems in your airways. I've also read that mold can hide other contams as well, but I'm not too sure about how that one works or if it's 100% true.

Green mold is actually relatively harmless. It's the white shit astound it that id be more worried about when it comes to molds. Yeah definitely not worth it.
