Well the mycelium could sense the presence of a nutritious media and it bridged itself from the underside of the lid. To the surface of the agar media.
Was pretty cool to watch.
Happened to me just yesterday as well! I've had it happening before though

Not AS SOON AS. Grow it out a bit, make sure you have plenty of space to transfer away from the original wedge, and give possible contams a chance to hatch. That's not really as soon as it jumps off...

I got a little bit done tonight.
Made that lovely coco and coffee with some rice grain sub, but the BR is all under the cior.

You all know what that is the aftermath of. I made my first clone attempt. That cap was a little more wave than coincidence, so I wunder if the wave will come out.
The manly 3rd flush was a whopping 46.4 g off my shit day cake. I'm gunna soak and see what us has to show for a 4th flush. It's following the trend of making 1 big one, so I hope i can push another BBC sized dick out of that cube.
Decided to do a MS into some grain. Here's some Malabar coast, nothing cool looking but I wanted to show it.
Hope you are all having a good cultivation day, and if not I hope it gets better. I'm happy I finally found agar today and I can get in the big league now ha ha. I'll have some good dick picks soon hopefully.

Maybe they can sense the water evaporating off the agar
Early as u can when cleaning when u see the clear stands stretch out, ill make sure to take pic for the future. When selecting sectors from cleaned cultures let em grow out an express em selfs. Why do u want contams to germ? Or is that a typo.

Before it hits the wall and you should be fine. Personally i like to let it run out a little bit so i can see better how its trying to express itself A.

(bunny-shaped?) happy first transfer? I'm like 85% certain I'm growing what I want instead of contams.

Half-pint jar of WBS starting to colonize. It really likes the milo (or maybe it's just easier to see on the milo?)

Yes....lady bugs migrate. I wont go all into it but a bunch stayed behind and have been chilling with us all winter.
There a predatory insect. There harmless. Anywys.
Thst pic is really hard to see that culture. I know Pastyplates are tough to see into clesrly sometimes. Id look for rhizomorphic growth....the fingery looking kind of mycelium and transfer it to another plate.

They can sense the food source. It's like walking past a bakery for us. Or a dispensary if you will They got their own smelling system, it probably works a bit different though, but that's how you could view it for ease of reference.
That's not a typo at all. I want them to germ, because then I know they are there. They shouldn't be there, but if they ARE there but don't get a chance to germinate, they could get passed on to the next plate, and the next, and that makes determining the source of contamination a lot harder. When you let them germinate, you can see where to steer clear from, and you'll know that if you have a contam next time, it'll probably be your technique while transferring, and not a hitchhiking organism.
When running from contams, yes, then you should transfer a bit sooner. Still need to give it time to get away from the original wedge. Selecting sectors, I let them express themselves for a while. For expansion and culture maintenance, I transfer at about a good fat inch of new growth (across, not radius).
The wall and half an inch from there is where most contams happen so we don't want to hit the edge.

Mushrooms def can sense food source. I have had Cyanescens mycelium on glass, and when I've introduced new wood chips, the mycelium JUMPED onto them where they were near the glass (but not touching).
I almost couldn't believe what I was seeing, haha.
