question regarding source of heat
    #25131917 - 04/11/18 11:23 PM (3 years, 1 month ago)

im doing 20 jars pf tek, the first ten inoculated about 12 days ago and the remaining 4 days ago. i have growth in 6/10 of the first ones. i screwed up the substrate so i am attributing it to this.. anyway my question is can i keep the jars beside a floor vent? the temp is 80 beside it. and around 68-70 in the rest of my house. they've been sitting there since inoculation. what im worried about is the air coming out of the vent being dry enough to suck the moisture out of my jars and dry them out.  has anyone tried this and had issues? if this is a bad idea could switching the jars from the 80 degree environment to the 70 degrees of my house stunt the growth?

It'll be fine.  70F is a great temp to colonize mushroom mycelium at.
